Rod Building So, you've landed a nice fish on a plug you made, eh? Now, the next step, building your own RODS! |

Crossing Over....???
I’m thinking of crossing over from trying to find a 9’ 1pc factory rod to a custom built spinning rod. There’s been some talk here about the Batson Rainshadow 1087, which looks like it matches what I THINK I’m looking for.
Does anyone have any info how this would handle something on the small end like a 4” Wildeye up to approx. 1 ½ oz plugs?
Thanks,

A great rod for up to 1.5 oZ and down to very light is a steelhead rod. Build it like a surf spineer with a 40 HH gathering guide. I use the lami GSB 108 2H. Great for 1/2 to 1.5. Only spinner I use now.

Thanks SaltHeart,
I’m a far way off from building one myself. If you got time, I’d like to pass along some more info on what I’m looking for.
PM or email, one better than the other?
Thanks,
