Tampa/St. Pete Fishing

Got a possible opportunity to go down there is February for a week and was wondering what the fishing scene might be that time of year.

any suggestions are appreciated

Oooh - not much on the fishing there but the Rum drinks & Grouper at the Hurricane in St Pete's Beach were great!

Ask Andy.... he seems to have fished a lot of the Florida areas.

We hired a guide a few years ago when I was there for the final four (late March). Caught a bunch of trout and some snook.

Dad,
When our son went to college at Eckerd we visited Fort Desoto Park. While I didn't fish it looked like it offers opportunities for wade fishing and has fishing piers which are open into darkness. Plus it's an absolutely beautiful park and beach. Good luck.

My buddy spends the winter down there. Some snook and speckled trout around and fishing for small sharks is fun he said.He uses schoolie gear and some lighter stuff.Small baracuda on metal too with biggies mixed in.
