Here we go again!!!!!
A convicted rapist is seeking visitation rights with the child his act created.
The identities of both victim and rapist have been withheld for their protection. Based on the story.
"The Norfolk prosecutor asked for a three to five year prison sentence. But Superior Court Judge Thomas McGuire sentenced him to 16 years of probation with the condition he acknowledges he's the father of the baby and abide by the probate and family court.
The probate court ordered him to pay child support, opening the door for him to request visitation rights with the child.
"He hasn't cared up until now. Why should he now? She's three. She doesn't know who he is," the teen mother told FOX Undercover.
The attorney for the man who admitted raping the teenager would not comment on his client's fight for visitation rights. But he did claim the relationship was consensual, even though he acknowledged it was inappropriate, given the victim was only 14 and his client was 20."
Just another case of a MA judge that either doesn't know the law, doesn't care about the law, or learned about the law from watcging "Law and Order" and "CSI" on DVD!!!

The perpetrator/rapist was ordered to pay child support, because the victim requested it through court papers. So this is what you get. Of course this is what she gets on top of welfare. If he has to pay he gets to look. I'll bet he gets at a minimum supervised visits. And it was statutory rape, not that it is a better kind, but it probably happened on a date, and she new him.

She knew him through a family memeber.
They met at a church social, and based on the reported story he threatened her to keep it quiet.
How does statutory rape change the results?
Does that give the perv MORE rights than a brutal sadistic rapist?
Should it matter if the guy raped a 5 yr old, 10 yr old or 20 yr old?
Maybe the child support order may have been filed AFTER the judge gave this criminal a "slap on the wrist"?
In any case if you are a CONVICTED rapist, you should not be granted ANY right to visit the family that you helped destroy, PERIOD!!!
And since he really hasn't paid his debt to society, his paying child support sounds like a fair substitute.

How do they determine the difference between a child molester and a staturory rapist when the person is 14 years old? To me he's a child molester!
If a person was a child molester and fathered this baby , there would be no consideration of visiting rights. As a child molester he also would have gotten hard tme , not probation. Unless this guy is mentally retarded or something , I can't figure this out at all.
I just can't keep up with the "progressive" thinking these days.
