More IPA's

I'm but a beginner when it comes to IPA's but those of you who recommended I try them during my trip to Montana last year sure did convert me. A few that I've liked was the Blackfoot single malt IPA in Helena Montana. Haven't been able to find it out east. I've also just scored Racer 5 today - awesome. Loose Cannon Hop 3 IPA is also very good. Eben turned me onto Flying Jenny EPA from Greysail which is also very good. Hard to drink regular beer now - I'm a IPA convert thanks to you guys.

Ipa's are where it's at!! . I'm glad you liked the flying Jenny. Many people don't like it, but I love it and really love that its local. If it wasn't local, I'd go with something like dales pale ale, which is filtered and more hoppy, but I find the flying Jenny just perfect, but a tad undercarbinated.

Dennis, if you like IPAs, you should try Belgian IPAs... Flying Dog Raging Bit@h is really really good. There are others emerging from that style right now too. IPA ingredients with Belgian yeast... yummmm

Thanks for the recommendations. I just found a shop (Sandy's Liquors) that has quite a variety but all the choices made my head spin. Luckily I found the Racer 5 which I had read about. I did see the Lagunitas but haven't found the Flower Power yet. I'll keep an eye out for the others.

We don't always line up on Hoppy palattes, but I think this is a winner. Plenty of hops but balanced in the IPA sense with a deep amber color and just the right amount of malt to round out the sweetness and mouthfeel

I had my last heady topper a few. Ights ago from the batch that Scratch gave me and I have to say that I was wrong in my first impression of it. It really is an awesome IPA.

I'll be there. Thanks very much. I'm a lightweight when it comes to alcohol content - 1 IPA at 7% and I'm dizzy - can't imagine 6!

Thanks Scratch.

Just had a Surge Protector IPA. Collab brew by Spider Bite, Blind Bat Brewery, Barrier Brewing, Great South Bay Brewery, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company, Long Ireland Beer Company, Port Jeff Brewing Company, and Blue Point Brewery. It's for Hurricane Sandy relief and to help out Barrier Brewing, which was heavily damaged by the storm. Nice straight forward American IPA. Nice to know I'm making a difference every beer I drink .

Spence, I'll have to try that one day. With beers like that, I usually call it quits after 3, or else I won't taste anything else for the next few hours.
