Thumbs up Good Friends

If nothing else comes out of this internet soap-box-opera thingy, I gotta thank the Lord for one thing...The friends I've made online. I'm very lucky to have made a few good friends thru this machine, something I laughed about years ago. This morning - in a spare of the moment kinda-way....I met up with Clamdigger. We talked on the phone early in the am and I was supposed to meet up with him somewhere on his block,....due to the problems with my boat, I had to back-out. So what happens next, he comes over to my neighborhood and hangs out with me and my sick boat, What a guy!! Clam, as always...it was great to see you again. Thanks for swinging on by buddy- Had we not met on here, we would have passed each other all day long out there and never said a peep to one another.

... - - - I gotta laugh about this now---after you left me clam, we fished the point after the dock and skipped back and forth across the high-way - - -- my cousin wanted to chase birds, so I obliged. What was under the birds? BLOOOOS of course...freakin' things were everywhere -- --we played them a little while and started heading back. Didn't get far before the leg that was just rebuilt started making noise (vibrating) that I could feel under my feet at the wheel, I thought I hit another rock ...I wasn't too happy so I slowed her down and slowly made my way. What happens next?...we run into a school of bass working bait...I put her in neutral and we start fishing...and thats' all she wrote. She stalled on me, and never started again. After pulling what little hair I have left on my head, I had to laugh....what else can ya do??...Ended up getting a tow from another friend A-L-L the W-A-Y back to the mooring. What a freeeeekN' day

...anywayz - ---I'd like to dedicate this thread to a few people I've spent some quality time with that I've met online. I've made some memorable moments with a few of you...Goose/Tattoo/the CuttyCrew...and a few others, you know who you are. God Bless you all.....whether you Believe in Him or not.

Is there anyone you've met online, that you've been thankful for? Why not mention it to him/her. It could make their day......Clam, you made mine.

..."hey Clam, what if you hit that rock??...

......"ya bounce right off it Bloo"....

I gotta lotta learning to do. ...what do I need a depth finder for? or charts? I'm a greenhorn with 2 back-up containers of gas and my fishing pole. No-one told me I'd needed more than that...

...hey Clam.....

...there's a good chance I'll be out there again tomorrow....different boat --- might head towards your block - - -- this boat doesn't have to cool down every 6 minutes- - little smaller too.....to fit in those tight places you like to stick yourself into

..call me if you come out and play

The Cuttyhunk crew felt as close to fraternity days as any group I've been with in the many years since I left UMass Amherst. Redcrabber knows the comraderie that come from a commercial fishing trip as well as I do, Both the good and the bad, but none of those compare to the true bond that was so evident to those of us lucky enough to have been there.....

Yep, I agree with everybody. SB.com, namely the people here, have made my day every day for the last two and a half years.
I started reading the posts when I was home bound, in the winter, for two LONG post surgery months. I haven't stopped checking the site (daily) since.
It's great to see people in the real world (I'm doing a lot more of this lately); before here I used to coax and cajole any warm body to find a fishing partner. Now I post and there's usually somebody that will be in my general vicinity.
Anyhow, that's just my $.02; I guess I like everybody.
Later,
Rick

Well said Bloo! And what I feel is the chief accomplishment of the site - setting up lasting friendships and creating mutual respect...

My family feels fortunate to have met the Clammahs and we sure feel we have fun with them...

The comaraderie of the Cuttyhunk crew is fantastic but the roots go much deeper. I've had a ball fishing with all the CH guys regardless of where we are. Even just BSing about it...

Just a great community of people & lasting good friends...
