Finished boat and launching
We finished building our boat so I thought I'd start a new thread.
Just got the boat back after having the carbs rebuilt, and my son insisted we take the boat out immediately.
I told him it might rain and he said he didn't care.
So after work we got our stuff together and met at the ramp.
Wasn't enough time tonight to test for performance much. Just a short cruise up and down the river.
Proud moment for us both.

Thanks Buzzy: I like Westport a lot. Do you launch there often?
Do you mean you can't see the videos? I'm new to posting video here, any tips on posting them successfully?

YouTube is good place to post just need to mark them as public so others can view. I only launch Westport 3-4 times a year.

Thanks. ..yes I've been a carpenter for forty years
This project tested our will and commitment.
When my son took the helm and smiled it made it all worth it.

Congratulations to you and your son!
I've followed this from back when you first posted it and you have done a remarkable job.OUTSTANDING! I'm sure the grins were ear to ear.
You have a lot to be proud of
Your seamanship skills will improve with time, I'm sure you'll have time to practice in between casts and all the fish that boat will catch.
I'd love to see it sometime, it makes my skiff look like a dingy.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.
1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!
It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

"Years of trouble free enjoyment"
It's a boat, no such thing.

Love Westport and that finished project, great launching spot for a small boater, if it's nasty out front you can always catch in the river.

Went out again today in the boat and got her up on plane.
She really flies and handles like a dream!
Took my wife out this time, she was very impressed.
Commended me for sticking with it to the finish.
I made a pvc boarding ladder yesterday after she asked me how she would get back in the boat if she wanted to go for a swim.
Just getting use to the Elite 5 gps/fishfinder I installed, really like it.

Thanks Jay.....Last few days on the water has been very calm.
I'm a novice at this and need to take baby steps. I was able to get out on the bay and familiarize myself with how the boat handles.
Also caught my first boat fish, a really small sea bass, and a bluefish.
