Dave, you're going nuts. Have you seen your wife lately?

Nice plugs, man.

I really like your work!!!! Can you tell us a little about painting them? I am about to try refinishing an older pikie and don't know what to do after i sand it down. Maybe reccomend a plug building book if one has been written.

Rocketman, I start with the plug body sanded down to 220 grit. I then prime with Kilz, let it dry for a day or two then when dry lightly scuff the primer with 000 scotch brite pad. I use createx paints with the airbrush. If painting with a yellow or a white pearl I apply a coat of base coat white, these colors don't cover very well so the base coat helps alot. After I get the plug painted I let it dry for a day. I then spray it with Spar urethane for a scratch coat. This coat must be totally dry before epoxying. After it has hanging for a day I scuff it with the scotch brite again. I then wire the plug, install grommets, lip, eyes etc. Then I will apply the enviro-tex. let it dry for 2 or 3 days and put hooks on. Done

Sweet pikies. You do some mighty nice work.

My favorite pic is the one with the single yellow pikie where a gold wedding band is clearly pictured on your left hand which means that you're married, and that somebody's wife is putting up with a big pikie contest going on in the basement. God bless ya man. She's a keeper.

I particularly like the banana pikie also, the color is spectacular. I hope the fish like it as much. You do fish with these creations, don't you?
