Moooooooooooooooooo
Here is Danno (a/k/a Surfpirate) with some nice 40ish lb. cows our little party hooked up with on Monday.
What killed me is that Crazy Alberto almost had a fish that was substantially bigger than this pair...we could tell b/c Alberto snagged a *humungous* scale from the fish.
Oh well, another trip and another fish.

Four of us - Crazy Alberto, Surfpirate, Hans and myself fished with Captain Bob Rocchetta out of Orient Point, New York on Monday morning. Two fish in the 40 lb-ish range, a 30 ish, and the smallest one (caught be me of course) was 25 ish. A nice pick of fluke and other bottom dwellers too. We fished a fairly narrow window for large (1 hour!) - outside of which the tides were humping too hard to nail quantity. This was QUALITY trip.
Bob is the former IGFA world record holder for the striped bass. He is in my opinion one of the best striped bass charter captains I have fished with - skunk is not in his vocabulary.
Orient Point, NY is on the North Fork of Long Island and is only a one hour ferry ride from New London, Connecticut. Bob's beautiful new boat is literally within walking distance of the ferry.
I am not at liberty to disclose exact locations or methods employed (but you can guess the general vicinity). Captain Bob would filet me if I peeped a single word.

I forgot to add that last week Captain Bob hooked up one of his charters with a 58 (fifty-eight) pounder.
I know I know I know...it doesn't count b/c it's from a boat.

Nice fishes Surfpirate
Now please tell them to travel a little further north.
Tag end of June and all I've been hearing is how great the fishing is in NJ and NY... and I just about got run over on the beach by a guy with NJ plates on a red chevy s10 the other night, he wanted to fish "his" hole!
Of course, I politely reminded him where his "hole" was.

Bravo Karl.
We get the same kind of shiite out here.
I was wondering recently if they had made there reservations before we all realized how late the run would be.
Some nights it feels as though it's christmas week at the ski resorts. Can't wait for monday !
Anyday ( or week ! ) and it will only be a night thing off the beach. A LATE night thing.
Hook em' upski !

Mike, it's all your fault man.
If it weren't for Bobby's segment on Secrets of the Striper Pros I would never have heard of Orient Point.
