Water Conditions

Anyone fish the Newport/Gansett area from shore last night or this am? Was thinking of driving down tonight and fishing the incoming, but dont want to drive an hour and half to find it unfishable with weed and silt, due to the storm that passed offshore. I know it was supposed to be pretty charged up over the last couple of days. Thanks.

I am heading to the base right now to go check it out. Will paddle the kayak out from the marina and down around past where the aircraft carrier was and fish the outgoing. Hoping the SSW winds in from the mouth dont make it too choppy

Fished both bays today (CC&BB) >Buzzards' was a little choppy...not bad though
Supposed to worsen overnight though..

My father fished Brenton Point last two mornings...he said surf was starting to pick up, but definitely fishable..no complaints of dirty water yet

With this storm coming, even though it's way out, ...fish will feed tonight!!!

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots

I'm just so frustrated with this season. Places and areas that have been productive under same conditions, seem to be barren this year. You couldn't have asked for better conditions than last night, it was absolutely beautiful. Other than some mild fire in the water, there was big surf, lotsa whitewater, perfect wind and tide, a night that you would have killed them in years past. 5 1/2 hrs later, and not a sniff. I'm all for perseverance, but this is friggin' ridiculous.

PM me your cell Scott, would have hooked up if I knew you were out. I would have taken any sign of life last night. Did see some fireworks... and a handful of drunks on the way home, other than that, did alot of star gazing.
