cutting off that blasted bail!

I can't find a manual bail or bail less conversion for my 6500SS anywhere. One shop "never heard of one" , another said they had them and when I went all the way up there, they tried to send me a 706Z. I can't find a stinking one on the net either. I'm just gonna chop that stuck off with the dremel. Should I trim it right up to the roller or should I leave a little bit of the bail? I'm thinking that if I trim it all off, it will be easier to get the line off the roller to cast. But I'm thinking if I leave little bit on, It will be easier to get back onto the roller.
Any suggestions?

Buy the conversion kit for 10 bucks or whatever it costs instead of ruining your reel...try Bucko's in Fall River for Penn parts
