Westport Tow Coverage
I've had seatow for since I went back to saltwater in the 80's and last year was the first time I've had to get a tow in, just off Sakonnet point and they came from the islands. Years ago I did a lot of mixed ramp fishing, might be Scituate one weekend, Barnstable or Westport the next, but now I'm primarily out of westport, so how is boatUS down there? Looks like with coverage in Westport and New Bedford it might make sense to make a switch. Flip side is if I were outside Barnstable and needed a tow, I'd have quite a wait, looks like inside all their coverage is closer to Boston; tow would probably come from Scituate.

It might be worth you while to get a towing endorsement on your boat policy.
You will have to pay for the tow, and be reimbursed, but you will never be out of "your coverage area"
I have 2 grand coverage included with my policy

Mike,
Was that standard with your policy or some extra $ How did that compare with an annual tow membership. And was this a bit more since your doing charters?

I just looked at the policy. It's $2,500.00 towing coverage and it's included with the policy.
I use ocean marine. it's the "charter advantage" plan but they offer all kinds of policies.
I know back when I had travelers ins.there was 750.00 coverage in that plan and I'm sure you could raise that.

Great BoatUS team out of P'town. I used them to tow me about 6mi off the Gurnett back to GH last year. My 2nd BoatUS tow.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Boat US is stationed in WPT and keeps a boat at Tripps. Same group as NB and one of our own works for them.seadogg

Yes..... Boat US.......waay better than seatow for that area.
I had seatow at first until an unpleasant incident occurred, then I became better informed about Boat Us superior customer service.
Thanks to Clint and Casey (and the rest of the crew) at Boat US, these guys helped me out of a jam, and I didn't even have a policy with them. I do now!
