What to do on the Cape for the next few days

My mother-in-law is at the house for a week, she wanted some alone time with the kids, so my wife and I are heading to the cape for a few days. We wanted to be near an indoor tennis facility, so we are staying in Eastham. Any suggestions for activities, restaurants that are open (we prefer casual, clam shack type places, most of which I presume are closed). Can we see seals in the winter? What are good beaches to take a long walk on near there? Lighthouses to see (she loves lighthouses)?

Not specific to where you are staying, but the Mid-Cape Athletic Club on White's Path, in South Yarmouth has indoor tennis. I think Chatham Light is open some days around the end of December, not sure if it's the same tour as in the summer. Also, not as grand, but the Three Sisters you can walk up to anytime. Race Point visitor's center is worth a look, you might be able to get to the life saving station. Provincetown is sort of nice, uncrowded this time of year (as many towns out that way are), try the Public Library and see the scale model (66 feet long) of the Dorothea Rose schooner, pretty cool.
Restaurants, not all that sure about that.

Nauset light in North Eastham. Up Brackett Rd. off of rte 6, turn left then right on to Cable Rd. to the end. Query about the lighthouse on laptop or Ipad. Great history involved witj the coasties who lived there, and walked the beach during the night spotting distressed boats.

Willy' gym for tennis and the Land Ho in Orleans is a good lunch spot,,, kale soup normaly great,,,, herring cove beach if the wind is any east of north, north lot I believe is out in the bay now :-)

Staying in Eastham, played lots of tennis at Willy's, walked on Nauset Beach and Harding(?) Beach in Chatham that led to a lighthouse that is private property. Land Ho in Orleans was as advertised, fantastic dinner tonight at Macs in P-town. I was surprised at how much was open in Orleans, was surprised at how little was open in P-town, but nice to walk around. No seals at the fish pier in Chatham. Saw most of the lighthouses in the area.

Freezing today!

Home tomorrow.

Great getaway, my 3rd time out here, 3rd time being amazed at the beauty.

Truro, Wellfleet,Ptwn beaches are the "long walk" beaches and not many IF any people.Play the wind direction& stage of the tide 1st.Wellfleet,the walk out to Great I. is a loop along the[bayside] beach and back through woods.2nd Truro,High Head[Oceanside]go out the orv[closed] access trail on foot.Go left and walk for miles if you want and probably not see anyone.Great beach combing at low tides.Never know what you'll find especially after a storm.That really goes for any of the East facing beaches.Going on a dropping tide gives you choice of hard sand/soft sand and time to get back depending on beach cuts that may exist.I always carried a small pack with a snack,water,fruit,and good knife to cut rope.Ptwn, Herring cove beach park in the left lot and walk left this is a great walk out to Wood End light and Long Point light.Bring the pack here too.Herring cove right lot park at the far end and walk to Hatches harbor.Great low tide hunting in the marsh.Race point,go left and walk the beach out to Race point light and take the jeep trail back.Wear good shoes every where.In Orleans,Land Ho,Yardarm for food.The Homeport for breakfast.In Chatham, The Squire in town is good food and bar.The Red Nun too[if it's open.1St Night in Chatham is a good time too.Wellfleet,The French bakery,Bounungre[spelling] on the corner of rt6 and Lecounts Hollow rd. is awesome pastries and breads.Dinner is high end but good too.Check to see if it's open.In Eastham,the Hole in One on rte6 serves breakfast,coffe shop, and dinner.Accross the road is the Red Barn for pizza,subs,etc. Good.Ptwn,just walk down Comical[commercial] st. too many to mention.Spent almost 3 decades there.I miss those big beaches very much.
