This is Not the FABBIT, but
For anybody that want's to head to Waltham for a day of ice fishing, we'll be hitting Hardy Pond on Saturday 1/23, at about 8-9 AM. There's plenty of parking and the Waltham Agway sells shiners about a mile down the road.
I'll be out with Jack, so it's pretty family friendly. Reports of Hardy include people saying that it's loaded with lunkers to the whole thing is six inches deep.
I saw people out there ice fishing every Saturday last year, so I would say that there is something in there.
Kevin, you should try to drag Ross down.
LMK if you plan to make it.
Thanks,
Rick

Ice fishing? How the heck is there any safe ice anywhere but inside a skatin rink with these temps?

The pond across the street was frozen on Saturday. It was still covered today.
I'm guessing in the next two weeks, we'll grow about 5 inches of ice.

Be cautious right now - two kids went through in a Brockton pond over the weekend.

I had about 1.5 inches on my lake Saturday morning. Last night it was still covered at dark. Woke up this morning with only a skim in a couple coves, the wind and rain killed it last night. Can't wait to get on the ice.

It'll be good enough to go. Guessing there will be 5-6 inches.
WU says the snows not gonna really start till around 1 PM. Jack and I might go out for a couple of hours then head back home. Not sure if my buddies from Gloucester are coming. Gonna text em.

Jay,
Call me this weekend. Maybe we can put something together on Valentine's weekend?
Mikey would meet us out there. We'd just need to find a place to stay.
Figure out how many of you guys want to go...my back is still pretty bad, so I am not really sure what to do.
Maybe I'll bring Notaro?
I'll text him now. Maybe Kevin will drive my ass?
I'm gonna try, you bastid.

OK, Jay. I talked to Notaro and a buddy of mine from Attleboro and they want to do it.
Time is of the essence. I say we head out Friday night 2/12 and fish 2/13. We can stay over 2/13 and then head out on 2/14 so we don't get skewered by our significant others.
Mikey says he can bring us to Woods Pond. It's really kind of an oxbow of a shallow river. Here's the google link:

There's a Rodeway inn that is 4 miles from the pond. It's $47 a night with two double beds.
I'll probably go down with my boy Aaron or with Notaro.
Jay, is this good for you and your crew? We need to make a call pretty quick.
I'll see if Mikey can meet us there on the 13th.
