Positive developments on the herring front

This is a good read that shows promise for reopening spawning grounds....

Great news, thanks
I helped with the herring count this year on a river I took a lot of bait from back in the day... Pay back time
The best part is these stats help persuade the powers to be to allocate the funds for opening up under road culverts that have choked the life out of so many estuaries around here. They are fixing up a whole bunch here on CC . The stats show before and after fish counts that are hard to argue with and helps fuel the fire for more reclamation.
Can u imagin taking herring for bait again....

That's good to hear.

Wonder how hard it would be to maintain those culverts?

Seeing that unless there was a flooding risk, they probably don't get checked nearly as often as they should.

Only time will tell if there will be any serious impact.

Just read the article, and it definitely is a major step in the right direction.
Removing old outdated dams from spawning tributaries could only help the situation.

I am a legend in my own mind!
