Screw them striped ones, I'm headed north to chase the brown ones, alone with some long skinny toothy bastards know as pike. I rarely get to fish with my old fishing buddy, so a weekend of it will be a treat, plus we do plan on having a few beers at the end of the day over fish stories. Hope your feeling better John, you sounded like crap on the phone the other day, I perscribe a half dozen keepers, but it is August so you may have to cover some ground.

Question

Is there a bug going around? Some friends and family are calling in with summer colds.

Lessee...this weekend...cleaning out the gutters, power washing the trim, washing the windows, and if I'm lucky core aerate the lawn.

Not usually a Weekend Plans poster, but 4AM tomorrow we're heading up to the Cape for a much needed two weeks R&R on Bass River and points East, West, North and South. Got a bunch of painting, the annual Pirate's Cove Challenge, off the beaten track nature walks, hope to take some fish, rate the chowder everywhere we go, drink some beer, drink some more beer while searching for whales, and ultimate family goal, get a picture of all 23 light houses between Bourne and P'town. Did I say it was R&R??? (Green F-150 Supercrew with NJ tags and a homemade S-B sign on the back window. Honk and say Hi if you see us blur by).

The cape tomorrow, but not for fishing. My wife's co party in Barnstable... starts with a free whale watch.

Take the boat out early sun am. I need a few fish as well after a hell week with sick babies. Somewhere in there I need a good nights sleep. Guess that will have to be tonight. I could fall asleep at my desk right now, so shouldn't be a problem.

We're still determined to get a shark... after some stripers of course. Hopefully the weather will be mild.

Good luck everyone...

I hope to hit Carpenter's Bar and Deep Hole Sunday around 2am. Low is 5:15. Chuck some eels. I hear Newport is hot but I don't know my way around, I was considering going to Brenton Point instead but 2am is tough time to try an unfamilar place.

I'm confused by everyone's weekend plans...those are daytime plans....Nightimes are for fishing, at least for us surfcasters. You can paint all day, just fish at night!

If you see a black Blazer full size it will be me But I do have the roof off rt now so at first look it might look like a pickup.
