Are you talking the change in the current inside the breachway or the tide height outside along the beach? I am a bit confused by the replies so far as I add 45 minutes onto the high tide calculation for Watch Hill to determine when the current will begin to go out of the breachway at Quonny.

I thinks anyone fishing is thinking about the drop. It is going to take most tidal 2 hours to turn when coming out of a breachway or slouce.

This is what I was referring to and doesn't jive with what others are saying. For me it's 45 minutes after Watch Hill high tide for the current to start going out at Quonny. Maybe you guys are confusing the 2 hour addition to the Newport high tide as it's just a bit under 2 hours after Newport (really about 1.5 hours) for the current to start going out at Quonny. I've heard lots of guys over the years use that calculation shooting for 2 hours after Newport to ensure current movement at Q.

I never timed it out exactly but always shoot for about 45 min after high at Watch Hill. Assuming you want to fish the drop.
