What a day!!

We headed to the fluke grounds at 5am. I had two buddys that I have not fished with for about 5 years. ( Hopefuly this will be the last time!!) And my good friend Kenny who has fished with me almost every trip this year.
Well my friends got lost and called my cell 10 time trying to find us!! (Should have let them stay lost!) Well I talked them to the ramp, and Kenny showed up rt on time. We loaded up the boat and headed out.
Now we have talked about what we all do with are fish trash before, and I take mine put in a bucket and throw them away at sea the next time I go out. So when we got off shore I told my buddy to throw the bucket of fish parts over board and to save the bag of Squid on top!! So what does this A$$ do throws the whole bucket, I mean bucket and all over the side with the squid in it! I said Hey!! Grab that bucket!! But as with everthing you don't want to sink, It sank like a rock!! Bucket, Squid, and all the fish parts!!
What the heck did you do that for?? He said you told me to. I said the contents not the platics bucket!! And what about the bait!! I did not hear you.
I should have turned the boat around rt there!! No bait and a couple of fools on my boat!! And one of them use to own a boat!!
But we marched on!! When we got there i pulled a bucktail I tied over the winter and jiged up a nice fluke. Only took 1/2 hour!
We stripped it up and we were off. Then My buddy who showed up with no rods, tackle, soda, food, or sweat shirt. Says You got a extra soda?? Good thing I had a cold 12 pack of Diet Coke. He says I don't like diet, To darn bad I said that is all there is. Never mind. Good
Thank god I had two of my other rods in the truck. I said where are your rods?? He said I figured you would have them. I said you go fishing with no rods?? You are lucky I had them because you never said anything.
So of coarse they have no tackle eaither. And good for them I got a fluke for bait!
Well the first thing to go wrong is that Kenny got a fish and we got hit broad side by a jerk that scremed by us and left a huge wake. fell back and landed in his seat, But on the way down with a fish in one hand and rod in the other he got the hook in the palm of his hand! Good that it went in and out so I was able to cut the barb and pull it out. Cleaned it up with some freash water and put some nerosporin on it with a bandaid and some tape to hold it on. We kept on fishing.
Now I had a friend that died 2 years ago this comming Thursday, He was my best friend and taught me all there is about fishing!! I built him a rod 6 months before he died. Well this is the rod my friend was using. I never let anyone use it before!! I bring it along all the time and let him fish from time to time. (dead stick, I no hes not really there, But it brings back great memorys) Well you guess it He broke the top off about 10" inches!! Well I was PO!! He said it just broke!! But I saw him lay it down when he pulled in a fish, thennhe steped rt on it!.
We keep going!!
Well it took 4 guys 6 hours to get 100 #'s fish, Bad day! Now we go to the ramp! I back down the trailer and get out to put the boat on. Kenny throws me the rope and I am out on the trailer. I pull the boat to the trailer and hook up the winch cable. Just as I go to walk back to the winch My stupid buddy starts to winch the boat up pulling up the cable to trip me and in the water I go!! Small cut on nthe elbow. I yelled some things that I am not going to repeat here but I bet you can guess!!
Get the boat out of water and I start to do all the things to get ready for the ride home. Kenny pulls the plug I lift the motor , ect... and here are these two jerks filling a cooler with fish!! I said what you guys doing??
He says we are getting some fish to go home. I look in the box and say You got 1/2 the catch in there!! 50 #'s He goes 1/2 for you 1/2 for us right. I said that I sell the fish for a living and that I would be glad to give them some but not 1/2 the catch. ( I told them this before hand) So I gave them 10 Fluke each and we got 15 Black Sea Bass 2 to 4 pounds each. So I gave them 3 each of them.
They left and said lets do this again some time!! We had a ball!
Am I missing something?? What ball did we have?? Well needless to say as kenny was standing there I earsed his #'s from my Cell and when I got home did the same here. I have instructed the family that if he calls I am not home NEVER!!

What a great day!! I am getting drunk tonite and going to sleep like a baby!!

I hope you can laugh at this some day ! except the broken tip , thats a shame . Dead sticking it was a good idea , one I think I would do . My fishing buddy died in 82 and I still visit his grave the night before trout season .

You couldn't make up a story that bad if you tried. Those kind of guys eventually get their just deserves. The saddeset part is that broken rod.

well now that I have had time to relax, I guess it is kind of funny in part.
But the rod breaking is killing me!! But I can't do much about it now. But I promise these to yahoo's will never set foot on my boat again!
I always dead stick a rod with circle hooks. some times it catches better then I do!
Stripinline, Got your own rod? tackle? Food and drink?? Cash for gas?? You can go!! But don't touch nothing!!

And that goes for anyone who wants to go Fluken with me. Commercial seasonis about to wrap up!! and I will have to find a Job soon! Which I belive I have.
But anyone who wants to bring there own rods, and food, drink and help chip in for gas I will be happy to take you out! I have the hooks and things that work for me and will supply that. Then you can take what you learn and modafy it for your self.
Or if you want to follow me out thats ok to. Rec. limt here in mass is 16 1/2" and 7 fish per person. But the best thing about the vinyard is that there is so many things that you can catch. Scup, Black Sea Bass ( we got 15 today with out even trying) Striper, Fluke, Togs coming soon.
So if we had a good day you could get 7 fluke 50 scup, 20 sea bass, 2 stripers, and I forgot but I think 6 or so on the togs, O yea there is no shortage on Blues!

I love the Vinyard!!

That's what I'm talking about! My friends thought and did the same way with me before. Not the rod breaking. I told them to buy one if they are going to fish with me more than once or have a little experience. Yeah, I'm w/ striperline. I wanna learn the best from a fluke mastah just kidding. Not that I wouldn't want to. I would like to one day...
Man, this story is funny. I always yell at my dad, my friend, and the fat bastard who disobeyed my mom tow years ago...

Another thing, I always bring my gears when going with a buddy.
