Hey John,
Good fishing to be found everywhere. Bring the essentials, weather looks to be a bit quiet but the potential for a large, south swell is going to affect all the islands and south/east coast.
Great Point will be VERY dangerous if the swell gets up. There is fishing all through GP and Coatue so try and stay off the Point if itis jacking big. It will knock you down like a train if you turn your back on her. Everything on the North shore will be more fishable in a big swell.
I think the rental truck gives you the Town passes. GP does have a day rate but, remember, The gate closes around 6:00 pm so if you time it right.
You get the program. I'll be fishing Friday night for sure.
Brant Point & Jetties is producing bass up to 50 lbs on MANY different combinations. Bait is king, get eel at Nantucket Tackle Shop and ice & beers at the Stop & Shop. They are both mid-
island (across from the Box. I know you guys will find that place....) and the eels are at the Mobile ataion behind S & P.
The West Jetty is a super place to fish as is the East. Plugs, Flys and bucks with rinds are destroying them in the channel. Bring a wetsuit and you can walk the east side of the West Jetty by walking a sandbar for about a 1/4 mile. It goes from 4 ft deep to 26 in about 5 feet. Another serious danger zone. Fish it at all tides as the current is flushing through the rocks
on BOTH tides and it is LONG Jetty. Outgoing is solid.
Don't play with the Heat. Don't drive #^^^^& faced. There are Troopers stationed here and the Townies will be Townies. Wear the seat belt.
West end is another world. Long story.
South Beaches are nut's. ALL SECTIONS
Probably Gonna look like Pipeline on Saturday
Most of the best right now is at Dawn/Dusk and Night but there are also albies, Spanny macs and Bonito in the West during the day. Things are about to get hilarious with a our Striped friends. There are Bluefish so big you think you got a Tuna on.
PM me if you want to try and hookup. I am pretty busy so it would most likely be the 6 - 1 am shift for me Fri/Sat.
Bill Pew Tackle is a must stop while you are in town. He's is out near the begining of Madaket road on New Lane. Quick Left and a right. He is on the Left. Flag pole on the lawn.
Enjoy
