Rumor has it

This summer the canal will be closed to Commercial fishing for stripers, rec only. I don't comm fish from a boat or from shore and it does not affect me nor do I have an opinion for or against. However, taking advantage of not having public meetings and just going forward with this new regulation about to come out is pretty suspect what the motivation is behind this decision.
I know the canal has been more of a sh i t show the past 5 years but this move just sounds like enforcement is being like government politicians do when things are difficult, they get lazy. They always want the easy way out.

When they made the regulations for a slot this year, did they consider a slot for Comms too? or is that another whole subject....

anyway, hopefully there will be less poaching going on but we will see.

Striped bass are too valuable a resource to catch just once.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

slip for the most part / the states followed in line on the commercial ….... as it was …..RI took a 18% cut . so it comes to less days & less fish >< there would be a lot of dead fish with a slot ><>

ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE !!!

we've go massive schools of BIG bunker already...only a few small schoolies and holdovers so far.

A good run is better than a bad stand!

If funny how everyone cares about the health of the striped bass until it’s time for commercial season to open up.

it’s all about blaming other people for the problems

my only issues with comm guys in the canal is 3/4 have boat permits and taking more than a Comm guy with a shore permit , and EP do nothing about it.. But you can bank on the local canal rats calling the EP's after dropping His 6th fish in the box at the truck .. that someone who he doesn't know has more than 1 fish

Might I remind you we shared a house on BI 7 years ago and it wasn’t a birdwatching excursion.

I recall you and Oakley both got skunked.
