The curse of the Rickman

Well, it finally happened. All of my brothers bad luck rubbed off on me. It was a parade of follies. It started with not being able to sleep because my girlfreind was snoring like Mr. Snuffleluppagus. After about three hours of tossing and turning in the tent, I deceided @ 2:00AM it was time to end my misery by getting a line wet. So I figured that I was going to head down to Coast Guard and throw some plugs. As I was driving past the Highland Golf Links, I happened to drop my cigarette. I looked and looked but I couldn't find the f#$#%ing thing. SO, I kept driving. After about fifty seconds I noticed smoke billowing out of my steering column. Thinking quickly, I extinguished the blaze with a half drank beer that I had stored for future sips between my legs. I managed to get the fire out and moved on to the next catastrophe.
At this time it was about 3:30 and I figured I should just head down to the Race. Well, I lost about 50$ worth of tackle to the blues and only managed to land one. The next morning was one of those days that God just likes to tease you . People were landing 40+ " fish on both sides of me. I threw plugs, eels, and sand eels but only managed to land a skunk. The thing that really got me is as I was driving out past self contained I noticed the birds scattered all over the beach eating Striper carcasses. And very big ones. I measured 6 over 40" and 10 over 35". It was almost like God was saying ha-ha Mikey you suck. Actually, I am very embarassed to say that a very novice angler gave me a 24# Striper and I accepted it in fear of going home with zilch. I did manage to boat a # of 8-10lb blues from the kayak on Sat. Totally awesome dudes!! If you haven't fished for blues on a kayak, I highly recommend. So it wasn't a total wash. This is how I tallied 1 snoring girlfriend, 15 Blues, 50$ tackle loss, one broken car, and 0 stripers. I guess I won't be making fun of my brother as much. Getting skunked sucks

Yeah Mike, I saw you Sunday AM on the beach from the boat. We nailed a bunch of stripers up to 17# all keepers just out in front of you. I saw several real nice looking fish being dragged up to trucks and figured you must have finally gotten some good fish. Seems that bad luck followed you. Just remember, I had about a month and a half between striper catches, and that was fishing hard 4 nights a week all night. It can only get better. Thank god I was there friday morning. At least it was one day that I didn't have to hear the old "You should have been here yesterday. We killed 'em" story.

Man, that's funny. I'm sorry that you got skunked. I got skunked so bad this year too. Your girlfriend snoring like a Mr. Snuffleluppagus, losing a $50 worth of tackles, and a broken car. Damn, that's a crappy way to spend a day. And a very noivce angler gave you a 24 lbs striper to save you? That's even hilarious. Fish another day, man.
