2022 Quota Managed Menhaden Fishery to Resume on July 11

2022 MA Quota: 5,417,812 lbs
MA Landings*: 5,733,908 lbs
Percent Landed*: 105.8%

The 2022 EESA, a 1% set-aside of the TAC, was shared among two states experiencing unusually large amounts of menhaden in their state waters in comparison to their state’s initial commercial quota allocations.

yep they just can't leave well enough alone ..and allow this unusual large amount of bait to become the new normal amount of bait .

Good news.
A lot of the local catch of pogies goes to lobstermen for bait.
Lobstermen are being crushed with high fuel & bait prices.
Think about that the next time you order lobster.

LETS GO BRANDON
