Indian River, FL
Here are some shots from my trip to Florida.
Sight fishing for these guys was really exciting, but they can be tough. I threw some good casts, but got no love (I also threw right on top of a couple and spooked 'em... I was rusty early on).
Anyway, for anyone interested...

and here is Ms. Schoolie Monster with a nice redfish. She had 2 ladyfish, a jack, and this red to my one ladyfish at around 10am... luckily I made a comeback or I would've been all done.

I see digital proof that Mrs. Lure-snapper-off'er (aka Missus Schoolie Monster) outfished ya - what do you say to that???

Hey nice shots SM, I think the wife's red looks a little bit bigger than yours, and the reason she caught more fish is because of pheromones!!!!!!!

If she would have believed me about the polarized sunglasses, she probably would have really kicked my butt... she wouldn't put on the pair I had for her because they were dorky. After she put them on, she saw the fish much better and made really good casts to two reds that showed good interest in her lure. She also lost a small snook, which allowed me claim the multi-species award (its like winning the NIT in college hoops).
She did great and I was just as excited for her as I was for me... well, after I got my first red... I was getting a little tense for awhile.
Did she outfish me? Absolutely, I was so amped up, I was fishing too fast, overcasting, and setting the hook too hard (snapped off a red on the set). She was relaxed and just having fun. After I got my first red, I settled down and fished really well.
Could have been pheremones, but that doesn't explain why she caught more "ladyfish" than I did.
I don't know, that's some awesome fishing they have down there. And that's just one tiny area of inshore saltwater fishing.
Anyways, lets get these stripers up here ASAP and get busy fishin' instead of talkin'... tight lines.
