Feels like the whole country is slowly shutting its doors.....

“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the people of other countries, whose leaders are afraid to trust them with arms.” – James Madison.

Charlie wants to retire. I guess there's no one in line who wants to continue the business.

That is too bad. I would always make a stop on my way to canal or the cape.

man, that sucks. always stopped in there on the way to or from Cutty. Always a walked out with one of a few BMs left on the walls (sometimes a gem) or a new super strike darter. Part of our island ritual.

bummer.

I have a ton of rods from Charlie. He's got to be my age or close to it so Good for him.

No boat, back in the suds.

True statement right there

I went down last winter to buy some rod finish since they sell the type I want. I was looking over the shoulder of a woman wrapping rods to see her technique and see if I could learn more than I know.
Charlie went off on me and said how’d you like it if someone was watching you etc etc. I was like whoa..... you need a hug or something. Not good way to win a customer. Way over stressed.

Other than that it’s a great shop. Always felt his ‘custom’ rods were reasonably priced in comparison to others.

Many other tackle shops get thier rods from cms. There gonna need a new vendor.
