A fishing question! Clips...
This is something I haven't thought about in awhile, but I am almost out. Anything new on the market to consider along the lines of breakaway clips other than Tactical Anglers?

No, no, no. we’re 30… 30, three zero.

I found a couple packages of Breakaways , I was always losing them.
Any improvements in steel leaders?

In 20 years I've found nothing better than breakaways for plugging.

I started out tying direct. I'll go to my grave tying direct.

Joe, I wear 3.5 reading glasses on a lanyard around my neck. Improved clinch knot and I'm done.

yea, I've got break-away mag glasses ii use, it helps a little if they dont fog up- they don't cure arthritic deformed fingers.

That is me. I more often than not tie direct, but there are enough times where I am swapping out multiple times, in the dark, over a short period. Before too long, if I don't have a clip, the leader gets too short and I need to tie two knots.

I have always used Breakaway clips as well, but the ones i recently purchased seem different than the ones i had purchased years prior. The finish seems different on the new models. They also seem to have a somewhat smaller gap at the opening. I sometimes struggle to get plugs on with the newer clips I bought. They also seems flimsier, weaker and tend to bend out more often.

It all started last year during a terrible thunderstorm, when I locked myself out of the house. Shelving myself with a large piece of sheet metal, I ran for cover under the tallest tree I could find!

Break-away also.
But, I’ve been using VMC crank bait clips for albies. Noticeable difference in free swing action. 70# rating and low profile. Lots of big beach albies and gators. So far so good

The different brands of breakaway clips I have tried recently seem to have shorter nubs, and I’ve had a real hard time getting lures to bite and get on the clip. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this.
