Question Cod Teasers...

Was thinking of tying up a few teasers for cod jig rigs.

Nuttin' special ... something like a 7/0 O'Shaugnessy hook dressed with long bucktail and some krystal flash.

Some colors I'm contemplating are white, yellow, olive, purple.

Any thoughts on colors and patterns?

Thanks.

I use red and green squid teasers and they work great for me.
I use what ever I need for a jig 12 oz to 20 oz,
I have this on a penn 113 eltric reel with 80 # spider.
The rig is made with 80 to 100 # mono. I have two teasers and a Jig.
This is a heavy duty set up for commercial. I have even caught some nice Blue Shrks on this set up!! I caught a Maco on this also. That is how I got the MacoJoe name, It was a great day.
Good luck

Bucktail Teasers....Pink, Pink & ,more Pink

In the four years I mated on a certain fleet in gloucester, I learned thatt the most productive olor teaser for groundfish is Pink

I'm with Patrick. Pink works best for me in either bucktails or rubber squid and or shrimp tails. Two teasers and a jig.

I like white, but I've used every color rubber there is. Once you get your first keeper, gut it, if there are those sponge/grub looking things in its belly throw that on hook they work great.
Remember these are cod, they're like blonds but hungry too.

I have used everything for teasers pink and white grubs are everybody;s favorite. Depends on the bait around I killed them on sluggos in grey and black when they are on sandeels, on bait rigs a little bucktail on the hook works good to.

teasers?

Purple or wine colored B2 Squids have worked well for a few guys I know.

Also take a few of your 5/0 siwash hooks and tie them up with some purple bucktail and some holographic crystal flash and you got some nice teasers.
