				 | Haven't been yet, but got some hefty coupons for the place. Any New Jersey-ite or Pennsyltuckian will tell you that's a nice area of PA to visit and we do just what was suggested earlier to ward off the winter blues. Book a hotel, with a pool for the kids, if possible, and take advantage of some of the great outlets, sample the Pennsylvania-Dutch fare, maybe hit some antique barns or investigate the local history of the area. The Reading-Lancaster area is a great place to get away and not spend a small fortune doing so and not be poverwhelmed by crowds. I'd be curious when you're going, be cool to hook up somewhere. |

My wife and I were on our way for a little trip down to Hershey and the Amish country and were heading down I-78 in PA and I started seeing the billboards for Cabela's. She said if you want to stop we'll stop, because how often do you get out that way. So we stopped. What a sight. This store had everything you could think of. Prices were, well, Cabela's prices. People were friendly. Had some good deals in the bargain area. They had lots and I mean lots of heads mounted on the walls all through out the place and in the center of the store they had the 2+ story waterfall with full mount animals ranging from martins to musk ox and grizzly bears. They had trout and other fish in the indoor ponds and aquariums. I was not in the market to purchase anything, but was definitely worth the stop. |
