banner morning for early May

Headed out 6am just north of Mt hope bridge. where basically everyone else is ... bass Chasing up herring here and there ... slow drift working a gold spoon ( which was the producer of the day). got two pretty quick 35 in fish. than slammed a nice 40 incher. then it slowed a bit deployed a 9iner rig 2 more above slots and another 40incher on That. then moved Back up river heading home ran into same scenario
single bass pushing up herring with Gulls trying to get the herring.

Marked more bass dropped the spoons again 2 more bruisers 38-40 inches and a few more above slots. never got so many 38 in plus fish this early in May

Sounds good, finally dug out all the salt water tackle, reels on rods, freshwater tackle stowed until fall. Probably pick a good tide to hit the Westport River this coming week to fish the tail end of incoming and see what is biting up inside on the shallow flats.
