RIROCKHOUND Helps Rescue Young Dockhand

Don't know how many of you guys see the Newport Daily News, but a fellow S-B member was involved in a rescue off Jamestown that saved a young man's life -

Way to go, Bry

The full story is here:

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Thanks guys...
I was working the bar that night, (JR you wise @ss ), (I rotate between the bar and the helm, but since we have 2 other capt.'s, and the $$ is better I tend to tend instead of drive) and Eben, no I let him slide, but only because he was transfered to the launch to take him into the rescue wagon.... otherwise it would have been 20 and a two drink minimum

It was a pretty hairy situation, the kid was lucky his own boat didnt kill him, it came within a few feet on multiple occasions...

The crew did outstanding, noone hesitated, and it all worked out...
now back to fishing....
