Penn 965, 975, Sabre, Lami for NICE 4 or 5 wt fly

Hey, I posted this on a fly fishing website but figure someone here might want some ditch fishing bling and have a nice Orvis Bamboo rod they want to park with, yeah right, but really a nicer 4 or 5 wt for a trade of some sort would be sweet. I think the Lami SB 121-3M "may" already be spoken for.... pm, e-mail or post it here!

Hi, I guess I have been a member here and not posted in a very long time. Regardless, I am living in the mid west now and my month long trips back to fish the ditch and beaches are slowly being taken place by trips to fish for wild trout in CO.

I have a number of custom built surf rods, mainly Sabres and Lamiglass, all built for conventional reels and a pretty specific purpose that I can elaborate on if you are interested. I also have a Penn 965 that is in good working shape but has some scratches and a Penn 975 that is practically un-used.

Off the top of my head (the rods are at my folks place in Walpole)

All 1 piece blanks in great overall condition, no cracked guides, heavy wear, ect.

Lamiglass SB 121-M Black Glass with gold guides and black wraps/ gold trim. This is a classic ditch blank and I built it and think I fished it once.

Sabre 1209 trimmed back from the tip to 9'6- was my go to ditch jigging rod.
3-5 oz jigs

Sabre 1208 trimmed from tip to 9' another great lighter jigging rod which can be fished all night and not break your back. 4.5 oz eelskin special!!

Sabre 1088. Lighter plugging or eeling rod, not just ditch rod. Paired with a 6500 Series abu you can throw schoolie jigs to 3 oz topwater. Too light to jig heavier than 3.5 oz.

Right now I also have a GSB 120 1M that has SIC guides on it and is 10' but not done wrapping yet as well as a GSB 120 1L in the same shape. I am going to try to finish them up and bring them home to fish from Sept 15- Early Oct, nice tides!

I am looking for a higher end 3 or 4 piece 5 wt fly rod for some combination of trade. If you are at all interested shoot me an e-mail and I can go into detail on the wraps condition, ect.

I am posting here because these are 100 bucks to ship so I figured if anyone is intrested we could arrange a meeting to cast/ check out the gear while I am home.

Regards,
Dave
