6 fot 6 out east today ....hotreels report

Headed out east again today with Tim. Got out of ryders early and lines in. What an incredible day out there. Im going to go fish by fish.

1) First fish hit 5 minutes after we set the last bar out. We saw the fish crash and miss it the first time, then the second the line starts screaming off the reel. I get one the rod and get it to the boat, stick a gaff in it and 57'' fish in the boat :rbreslin:

2) We were still getting the first fish's blood cleaned off and fixing rigs. We had one bar in the water when we turn around to see it get smashed. fish number two on, this time Tim is on the rod. Get it to the boat and get a nice 54-57'' fish release on it.

3) We saw a few fish on top, troll over to them, and the bar gets crashed on hard again. This time it is on a senator, this is when the reels started to get hot. You could hardly touch the sides of the drags from the fish's first run it is so hot. My dad is on the rod and we get another good release on the 55-57'' fish.

4) Trolled around some birds and the short bar gets crushed again. Decent fish that had a lot of fight in him. I was on the rod and it took a while to get that last 50 feet of line in, and it took a nice little run at the boat. Yet another awsome release on that 55'' fish.

5) Trolling around, and no one see's the fish hit, but the reel starts screaming. Tim is on the rod again and gets it to the boat, another 55'' class fish released.

6) This fish was the coolest. Fish hit the shortest bar. Trolling around some breaking tuna and we know its only a matter of time before we get a fish. 5 minutes and we see tuna crash the bar, only to miss, but another one was quick to hit it. A nice 60'' fish starts screaming line of the reel. You could smell the drag burning off the reel (time to upgrade to gold). My dad is on the rod and we get yet another nice release on that fish.

By this point it was 10:45 and we trolled around for a bit but decided to pull the plug. Just an incredible day. Flat calm conditions, and we had fish all to our selfs outside the fleet. The fish were hooking them selves really hard, as you can see in the video's :metal:

We certainly had some hotreels on hotreels today :salute:

batting 1.000 can't beat that, very nice fish guys. What size reels are you using, I like the size, looks like they provide the best fight for these class fish. again very nice fish.

Why yes your right. It just slipped right out.Never buy single crimp rigs, Make your own and use two.Let go while Chris had the leader and was trying to set up for the gaff shot. We like to call those short releases.
