is it just me or ?

has the fishing been slow in the boston area , been out 4 times this season and only have 3 fish to show for it , i'm no sharpie but I put in my time and this is my 10th season boat fishing . I have fished every spot I ever caught fish at in the spring , inside , outside , left and right . also have tried several new spots just not measuring up to past seasons by a long shot . anyone else noticing this or am I just in a slump ? ps not looking for spots only opinions

You will break out of the slump soon!

Its been hit or miss. I hammered both bass and blues one day and struggled for 2 smallish (30") fish the next day. Bait is spotty too.
I don't think they have really settled in yet. Maybe once the weather decides to settle.

Boston Harbor Striper shootout was won by a 49" fish, guy had a 50lb'er fish day before! You needed a 44+" to place top 3 in the $$.

Capt. Russ Burgess pulls a 50-pounder out of a daytime blitz last week, goes on to win the Boston Harbor Striper Shootout on Saturday. http://www.onthewater.com/finding-a-50-among-the-blitz/

that's a heck of a fish I saw it on the dock, and another one just as big the next day. He's one of the harbors top big fish guys.
But if he got that fish out of a daytime blitz off deer island, Then my arse shoots out purple shamrocks..

If I have pogies I have been going large. Have to travel further and further as they have dropped way down Narr Bay. I think because of all the rain the salinity changed and they dumped down to find saltier water.
We have had a consistent pick of 25 to 35# fish. Smallest fish in 10 days has been 14#.
I think the real big girls will still come on the full moon.

No boat, back in the suds.
