				Wanted:Arra 1205, SSU 1201, Rainshasow 1209

Looking for a one piece 10' conventional rod. Built on...Arra 1205, SSU 1201M (maybe MH) or possibly Rainshadow SW1209 (possibly SU1208).Looking for something used for a few seasons to keep cost down a bit.

Open to others as well, but those would be first choice.

I'm about 30 miles WNW of Boston, but can travel to meet up. Thanks

				Batson Rainshadow 1208

I have a 1208 that was built by Mike Thomas at M&D's. The rod is probably 5 years old but it has never been used. It's wrapped burgundy gold under with black over. All Fugi low rider alconite guides. Fugi reel seat and cork tape handles. I will sell it for $175. I will have to figure out how to get it to Massachusetts from NJ but I am sure I can get that worked out. If you don't find what you are looking for let me know maybe we can work things out. |

 | I have to admit I do not know. SW or SU? All I can say is it's a beautiful rod. I have a mint tricked out Abu 7000 CL Big Game reel on it but that's a story for another time. You can't miss for the price. I'm 67 years old now and my stronger days are behind me. I will never use the rod. |

				 | Thank you for the generous offer Bill, but I will pass. If its and SW it will be too light for me, and I don't want you to go through all the trouble of trying to get it here. something will come up.....eventually ( I hope). Thanks again!!Dennis

				 | What's the difference between SU and SW? I wonder if there is a way to ID the blank. Tip dia? Butt dia?
You are welcome Dennis. I have tried to sell this rod many times. Something always seems to go wrong, it's nothing new.

				 | I have a Century Tip Tornado light. More powerful than the 1205 (which I own) or 120 1M but more tip feel than the 1209 (I have built many 1205's , 120 1M's and AS/RS 1209's so know them all well) . In the hands of a good caster it will outcast any of the rods listed. Its cut to 10 foot 9 inches and built for use at the Canal with an ABU BG 7000CL. All Fuji components. Like new condition. Cost to build this rod new is now over $600. Want $250 firm. Can meet somewhere along Rt 495. Forgot to add that its a 2 piece with about a 70/30 split and has never come apart since the first day it was put together and fished.

				 | I have an AMTAC SW 1209 (1 piece) which is very similar to the Batson SW 1209. It is an American built blank built by All Star I believe. It is built conventional with Fuji trigger reel seat and fuji guides, cork tape rear grip (2 layers) and a regular cork foregrip. Burgundy and black wraps. It was used maybe 4-5 times.
 Any interest?

I just contacted the guy I bought the rod from. He thinks the rod is an SU. Going to check on Monday and let me know. |

				 | May help... if it's stiff with a fast tip like a USA AllStar 1208 then it's an SU.
If it bends further down and leans toward (not as much though) the more parabolic / slower action of a GSB120 1M, then it's an SW.

 | Probably should have mentioned this but simply didn't think it mattered because the rod is unused. I am the 2nd owner. A guy I know had the rods built and then he bought a boat. Lost interest in surf fishing quickly and never used the rod. He has the model written down in his office in Boston. I'll know for sure on Monday. If an SU I'll take a couple pictures.

Looks like I replied to the wrong post. Sorry. In all fairness ripitsik did wait until OP refused the offer. folifish gets first refusal as this thread continues.
