BBQ and Fishing.....

Great to see everyone, some new faces and some familiar faces.....the BBQ was fun....Mike CC, as always, thanks for the use of your space.....

Managed only one at 26.5" after the BBQ at the canal....had another smaller one before that that did a self relaease 10 yards in front of me.....a few other taps....they were finicky, and the hits were wuite subtle.....should have satyed another hour or two, but was getting weary.

NOW, the BIG question of the day.....Who was it that brought the duck?.......that was AWESOME....., and ya GOTTA give up the recipe.....

Mike & Barbara, thanks for hosting it! (Schweet rod, wait til you guys see the next raffle item ).... Thanks to everyone for showing up and bringing stuff! Good time as usuall...

Anyone get some fish? We found fish somewhat thick in 2 of our 3 spots (no named spots ) and I had some bumpage at all 3 but not takers, even though one certain winner slowly swam right in front of me & Sprinkles...

Picked up some scwheet plugs for the site - thanks bugger - and bartered & bribed for a new secret weapon

Great time as usual - no back to Pats....

Well nice meeting everyone!! Thanks MikeCC and family for letting us bug yous for a while!!
After we left we went all over the place around the Canal!! My budy nausetblue took me to places that Inever been to and will never go again!! Scary sliding down rocks and wading thur the canal at night !!
Well we got one nice run , broke off, one small fish released, and tons and tons and tons of small bass breaking right in front of us maybe 30 feet would not touch a eel for nothing?? Tons of bait in the water! just did not want to eat are bait.
O well we had a great night and great day !! It is now 1 :26 am I have been home for about 1/2 hour. I put the eels away and I am now having a sandwhich, And off to bed I go.
See you guys later!!

Kudo's to Mike and Barbara for being such great hosts as usual!!

John> Hope that secret weapon works for you!!

Jigged my tail off for 9 hrs. Had one small fish on and ripped the claw right of a decent sized lobster with my jig!
Wanted to take a pic of it to show my prize catch but with PETA lurking ya never know!!

Just got home, well, to my parents. Long, long night. Fished hard and pounded a lot of sand on the back side from 8 last night to 8 this morning. Just finished doling out last nights catch to everyone that was wanting fish. Been going non stop since 11 yesterday morning. Think I am going to make a few quick stops on my way home to Q-town for a few more casts, or at least to feed the crabs. Heard of some good fish from way down in several spots, and they all showed an hour after I left each spot I need to figure out a way to be in more than one spot at the same time. The Race must have had over a hundred trucks jammed in double parked bumper to bumper this morning at day break. I have never, ever in my life seen it like it was. And there were 15 other trucks waiting to get stickers when we came off, all from N.Y. Saw 2 fish landed and only about 8 vehicles that were actually from Mass. I know I was delerious,. but by reading all the plates, I thought I had passed out and woke up in N.Y. Hope everyone had a good night of fishing. It sure was a beautiful one to be out on the beaches for. Pleasure to put some more faces to these G.I Joe code names. Thank you to everyone that made it happen.

Hey redlite,
the race was a parking lot, I thought it was for this leg of the tourney. You saw us jigging from a boat looking in, we managed 1 keeper 36" but it was a lean at only 15lbs. I did catch, well hook the biggest skate I've ever seen, they're joy to bring in using 300ft of wire.
Steady 3ft seas out there so it was a bumpy ride back.

Who won this leg?

We fished the canal friday night. i had 3 , Smokey one and Steve L 1. Smokey's was 33 inches but the rest were all less than 28.

Glad everyone liked Smokey's Duck. I'll see if he can post the details. he said he got it at Stearns?

I couldn't go sat. I got chewed out for even going Friday night!! missed a birthday I "should have been at" ! That's life!

I jigged, or should I say snagged one just short of legal, a couple other bumps; then nada. Got you call later Smokey, you didn't missing anything at the other spot in fact just before I left JP showed up and he was crying the blues about how slow it had been for weeks. Don't the bass know its time to get it on? The BBQ was great and smokey I need the specific address on that butcher shop, that duck was to good for words.

redlite & fishsmith....yes it was a parking lot (in places) so I opted to keep looking. plenty of spots where it was just me and the coyotes (heard and saw earlier but I felt like they were still there watching me.......only problem was no fish for me. Next time I am bringing a billy club instead of a fishing rod.....saw plenty of fish.... too far out and in REAL CLOSE (hence the club). Suppose I could have done better if the bait raiding sea rats werent around

John R., Sprinkles, CSK & I spent one hell of an evening together.

Spot #1...Plymouth ????...A boatload of fish on tiny Peanut Bunker and they would not eat a thing.

Spot #2...big Long trough separating Cape Cod from the rest of the world...no runs, no hits, no nothing. But we did harass some evil dooers from...well you had to be there.

Spot #3...All the way back Home for the group...CSK got one, I was luchy enough to land three. One little twinkie, one about 25" and one that I will call 28" on the nose.

Fishing was not that good but the company made up for it.

The best part of the night was that I (Team Ave Maria member) defeated Twinkles , I mean Sprinkles, I mean Mr. No Fish Catching specialist (Teasm Sea Monkey Member)

Second best part of the night was that John R. himeself got Hoed real bad. Info coming in later post

Definately good to hook up with you again and thank you for the equipement replenishment. Gonna keep this round from the woman. Yeah, I talked to Junior VT. yesterday afternoon and he told me about it. Little son of a gun. One fish a tide thing, just like the night before. They don't seem to be hanging too long in any spot, just blasting by. Gotta get better, though I've been saying that it can't get any worse for a while now. I got my first keeper in daylight hours in my life later that afternoon. Keep in touch and let me know when you're headed back down this way again.
