Hominy Grill is a must do (do it twice or thrice!) http://hominygrill.com/

Depending on what else you are up for (a very foodie place is Charleston) Halls Chop House, Circa 1886, FIG, Slightly North of Broad, Five Loaves, Chez Nous are all top shelf......I could do 'em all and empty the wallet doing it, if you know what I mean.

Best bet is to check out Zagat or Trip Advisor or Yelp (depending on your preference) and see what appeals to you. Or just walk around and see what you like. Works for me. Most places are pretty darn good or out of business.

Have fun. I am right behind you the first week of November. An annual event I can hardly wait for!

Wild Dunes and Isle of Palms are just minutes outside the city and has some great golf and a beautiful beach. South of Broad (SOB) is very nice, check out rainbow row for some old southern architecture and charm. Try to pick up a local handmade sea grass basket, a very nice memento to bring back home.

hi guys we had a great trip. We stayed at the pavillion hotel right down town. We did the carriage ride around the city and got the history of charleston, boat trip to fort Sumter, checked out the citidell and the aquarium. The rest of the time was spent touring and eating and drinking. The restaurants we hit were, R kitchen, Minero, hymans seafood, husk, tattooed moose, burwells and toast. It was an amazing trip these people really know there food and every where you go it is amazing. The people were warm and welcoming all in all it was a great trip! two hour plane ride direct flight on jet blue, I highly recommend this city to anybody looking for a good spot to spent a few days.
