Online purchasing other than Mudhole
I have had a very disappointing experience with Mudhole and was wondering if there are other preferred online places to buy components from. Thanks for the help. Bob H.

Bob,
I use Donart in NY many times. I find Mudhole pretty good for selection but usually are on the higher end $$. However if you are price shopping unless you buy everything from one place the shipping will get you and the end and the savings are nill.
Donart doens't have the biggest selection but they get stuff out the door fast.
What happened with mudhole?

Gift certs that expire. Caught me by surprise that they even had expiration, and they would not honor them all. That and over $17 to ship a guides that weighed less than the box they were in.

I thought gift certs at least in Mass never expire, not sure about FL. This would make me mad too, not cool.
Yes the shipping is outrageous for small things like guides, pisses me off too. I try to order allot of stuff for a few builds when I order. Guess you have to chaulk it up to shipping AND handling cause it should cost a few bucks to ship a box of guides.

Get-bit outdoors has similar prices to mudhole, carries alps products and has better shipping prices, however they are also slow getting stuff out the door. Otherwise I just drive an hour to shop when I have time on a Saturday.

To me it is not a legal issue, its customer support and satisfaction. One time oopsie and they should cover it as opposed to pocketing my parents money. I would likely have been quite a bit happier if they offered 50 cents on the dollar for the one they did nothing on. Oh well, fool me once.....
thanks for the scoop on other sources.

I think it was closer to $18 for an order that weighed less than the box is was shipped in on top of everything else. Took two weeks to get delivered. Given that, shipping should have been free. Done with them.
