Dear Zimmer, and the yankees players that attacked the groundskeeper

Zimmer: stay the hell on the bench where you belong you diaper wearing a**h0le.
You got what you deserved.

Dudes that jumped the groundskeeper: You'll be lucky if you leave Boston intact after that, but you have criminal charges anyhow! whee!

ON TO GAME 4!
RALLY!

Likwid,

Let's not make this a pissing match between you and me but:

I guess Don Zimmer spent 2 weeks in a coma after getting hit in the head with a brushback way back in the 50's. Pedro's brush of Garcia was a joke but what was more of a joke was Manny's reaction to a high fast ball from Clemens. Manny is the culprit. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TRANSPIRED ON THAT FEILD ONCE MANNY STARTED THE BENCH CLEAR. What did Pedro say to Zimm ? You don't know and I don't know.

What happened in the pen ? You don't know and I don't know. There wasn't anyone thrown out ? Hmmm. What could that mean ?

Well, it ws a great series until last night. It is obvious that the Sox players and Fans are beyond frustration and I can't blame them.

Just please don't start blaming the Yankees for it. They didn't lose any of the baseball games on purpose. They want to win the game, one game at a time. Stay in the present. It is how you win the big one.

No talk of a World Series. One game at a time.

Still a lot of ball to play........

Good luck Sox.

You'll need it.

I like Don Zimmer, he is a class guy and always has been, but he was out of control last night. He charged Pedro and at least Pedro had the presence of mind to just throw the charging bull to the ground instead of swinging at him. I know Zimmer was badly beaned in the minor leagues way back when and spent two weeks in a coma, so he takes these things very personal, but he had no business doing what he did, and I think when the media gets ahold of him, he will say so and apologize. That is the kind of guy he is.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

The picture on the front page of the ProJo sports section is about 2 seconds after that photo, Zimmer has his face in the turf, his arms behind him, and his feet in the air. I feel bad for him, that was a little too much

The fact is, if you watch the replay, ZIMMER charged Pedro.

All that Pedro did was a classic sidestep and push defending himself.

Yeah, Pedro said some things but that shows you the maturity of Zimmer to try to attack him on the field.

Don't even try to make it out like he's an innocent old man, because I don't buy it for a second. (knowing his reputation as a ball player and a coach.)

"Pedro's brush of Garcia was a joke but what was more of a joke was Manny's reaction to a high fast ball from Clemens. Manny is the culprit."

Beachwalker, think about what you said!

Clemen's knew that he would be tossed if he threw at Manny's head/back etc! So he threw as close to him as he could and get away with it!! Thats what ticked Manny off.

So how many pitches before Wells throws at a Sox batter tonight??

That is why I wrote it Bud. The brain is working.....

The pitch was high, slightly inside. Not even close. Manny's response was Manny's response. It cleared the bench. Period.

Zimmer charged Pedro. What did Pedro do RIGHT before that ?
Zimmer was provoked by SOMETHING.

I am not trying to use the old man cover. Just intrepreting what I saw. Nothing sure hear.

Great thing is there is another game tonight(unless of course it is a rain out ).

Then if the Sox win, it's even. If the Yanks win it's 3-1.

Sox better get a victory here.

I hope Wells doesn't bean anyone. Get over it, play some ball.
If it does become a pissing match it won't be a pretty scene.

Thumbs up

I agree with you on 99% of it but what I am trying to say is that Manny knew that even though that pitch wasnt really close it would have been if Clemen's hadnt been warned prior to the start of the inning.
Both pitcher's are grown men with incredible accuracy!
If they want to bean someone they will!
I think it was more of a manager's decision to throw at Garcia.
Then the wheels started turning!!

Now what about the word that the groundskeeper has spike marks on his back!! If they can pinpoint the culprit it will be criminal charges, not just league suspensions and fines!

Tonight could be interesting!! I think the Sox know they have to win so providing a Burkett STINK they will find a way to take game 4!!

Bloomberg said on national tv that he would have had Pedro put in jail for "pushing down a 70 year old man"

I don't sense any hostility or ignoring the past about Zimmer do you?!

I was listening to the Yankees announcer after the game, you know - the guy with the stupid and annoying "Yankeees Win, Thuhhhhhhh" - yeh THAT jack a$$ said that Pedro went after Zimmer and insinuated that Pedro went after Zimmer, picked him up and threw him to the ground - yeh, that's accurat and unbiased - my a$$.

So that there is NO confusion here. Zimmer ran out to Pedro, Zimmer CHARGED Pedro, and Pedro side stepped and threw Zimmer down. I don't think he wanted to but what should have done?

Yep, as usual it's the dirty Boston Fans and The Dirty Boston Red Sox that are to blame and "The Curse" (a buch of media manufactured crap) and all that crap. Give me a break...

I saw a great bumper sticker the other day, said "I Love New York - but I hate the Yankees"... Man I want one of them! (but add the Jets too - though their coach has character)

John, give me a break. I won't spend time quoting you but the Big, Bad Sox ?

No the yanks aren't known as the "Evil Empire", blah blah blah.

Let's not turn this into a pisser but man. Talk about a bias.

You should re-read your post.

Gonna be a classic tommorrow. Let's hope the Sox tie it up.

I enjoy a good series, period.

If you watch the overhead shot just before the pedro-zimmer altercation you can SEE zimmer's fat a** running STRAIGHT AT pedro while pedro is just standing out there at the back of the crowd

god bless the internet and ripping video feeds so you can watch them in slo-mo

I agree he shouldn't have been out there doing what he was doing, but bottom line is he's an old man who was given a face plant. If he broke his friekin neck or was otherwise seriously hurt, I would have a hard time saying "he deserved it".

I am not standing up for him but I hate not knowing the truth.

I REALLY would be giving the Sox coaches a break and I wasn't sure what the hell just happened.

Beachwalker....Manny was already on the field....Zimmer's job is not on the field!! His job is in the dugout to manage...Not to charge the mound,,,,

Beach - just going by what I saw (TV) and what I heard (on radio & TV). Fortunately (or unfortunately could be used as well), I was right in front of the tune when it happened. It was a lose-lose situation, once ZIMMER charged Pedro it went from a non-issue to a Lose-Lose. There is NOTHING Pedro could have doen to create a satisfactory outcome. With the possible exception of running arouns in circles AWAY from Zim when he chased Pedro (and who knows what would happen then) - what other, more realistic options were there? Seriously, answer that for me. That was a LOUSY situation for all involved and perhaps Pedro should have "run away", but Zim should never have done that either... Yeh when Pedro threw him down he didn't gently put Zim down, he did throw him.

What we need is a clean game 4 and get beyong this crap.

Oh, and I re-read my post and agree with everything I saw (including the Annoying Announcer - sometimes I'm forced to listen to the Yanks production instead of the Sox and yes, I don't believe he is anywhere near as objective as Joe & Jerry).

Yeh, I'm biased (need to find highly sarcastic smiley face )

Been keeping tabs on the NY media. Looking at their footage and their commentary you'd be led to believe that Pedro instigated it all. Anyone wach Zimmer's tearful apology?

At least the Sox players didn't beat up a special ed teacher:

In the report, Detective William Dunn and Officer Michael Pankievich, who were in the bullpen at the time of the incident, said they saw Yankees players "initiate an unprovoked attack upon" the groundskeeper and that "numerous other members of the Yankees bullpen jumped on the victim," either striking him or trying to break it up.

Meanwhile, friends of groundskeeper Paul K. Williams described him as a friendly, mild-mannered teacher of special education students and a passionate Red Sox fan who wore a Red Sox jersey and cap to school and brought extra team logo shirts for his colleagues recently.

Williams suffered numerous injures "to his head, mouth and body (including what appeared to be numerous cleat marks)," according to the police report.

Metal cleats to the face, what *****.

Go Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Told you Zimmer would apologize...He is a class guy that made a mistake in judgement given the heat of the moment. If any of you really think Pedro simply attacked Zimmer and that Zimmer did not charge him? You might want to get your eyes checked, seriously.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!
