S-B Powerball Pool - Jackpot Est 800mil
S-B Powerball Pool? Supposed to be around 800Mil (Cash option just over of 490)
3 tickets = $6 (not 2 not 5 but THREE ) - name them "Striped-Bass.com" or "S-B PB Pool" & your username and take a photo. Post the photo on this thread here.
If we win, 90% is split among those that submitted a ticket photo. S-B gets 10% to purchase 3(+) fishing houses, one on Block, one on the canal, Florida, Bahamas, or Costa Rica, (elected board establishes rules, etc) + S-B gets setup as a non-profit forevah - and we help fisheries stuff
Photos and tickets in by 8PM Saturday.
If any ticket wins over $100,000 we split. Under 100K after taxes and divvying up payout would not be worth it. Winner under 100K buys nice dinner for rest of us. 1 million would be worth divvying up. So under $99,999 it goes to the holder of the ticket - sound fair?

It goes from 50k to the next prize level of 1 mil.
http://www.masslottery.com/games/lottery/powerball.html
So I assume if there are 3 50k winners we split. I feel anyone who is in the pool if it wins should not be subject to a board deciding who can use the house because I tend to get piled on here for the slightest thing...let's just say my popularity is very limited with the members here which worries me.

Here is mine:
Good point. I think all 3 get to keep their $50K tickets and not have to share them. Maybe the 3 split the cost of the dinner.
I don't think the intent is that the board would be able to make separate rules for one of the winners. They would have to figure out how to run the house fairly and if and when the "non-winners" (ie losers) can step on our property.
Can I bring my gun?

What Paul said - the board would determine equitable use of the house among the winners / participants and others. It would be nice to have winners bring the family for a week, it would also be nice to have a cabin with cots for people to come and go.

If you observe all legal, practical, and ethical laws and standards, have the appropriate permits, training, onsite storage and safety, your permits' state have reciprocity with the state wherein the cabin is located, signature to an acceptable use policy, and in accordance to the rules of the house, yes.

Funny, I don't feel like a loser. I spent my $6 on a nice Arrogant Bastard draft last night.
Actually, I can't participate since I have a stupid phone that won't do the picture of tickets thingie. Or maybe I am a loser and just don't know how to do it....whatever.
If I am with someone that can do the picture thing I will buy tix this time around.

You must have a computer or you wouldn't be on here. If you have an All-in-one printer, you can scan the ticket and attach the.jpg. (That's what I did.)

I'm ok with the drawing rules; and when we win I'll chime in on the House(s) use.
No, don't bring your gun, fastest way to get hurt.
I'll post my ticket in the next day or so, the closest machine to me is 7 miles away and I'm working in the other direction. Still three chances, right?

A house?
If I win I will rent a house on Block/Cutty/Fishers/Montalk/ and a few locations on the main land every year for the season. May thru nov. I will also have transportation at every location, a plane, a fast boat, and probably a chopper. Then start the dialing in of where I want to be when. 300 mil after taxes!! Oh ya a Yeti 110 iced down with some silver bullets too.
With that bein said all I really need rite now is a freakin custom surf bag made to my specs!!

I will have to get my wife or daughter to take a pic on Saturday sometime. Likely just before dinner from the looks of things. I will buy some tix during my Quest for Pretty Things in Boston. Well, looks like East Boston right now. I think Boston has run dry of said Things.

I'm not sure I could handle being that rich, I'm so used to doing everything for myself and family I could't ever get used paying for others to do things I would normally do (if that makes sense)

I think the key is to travel. Fish the world. Explore the 7 wonders of the world so to speak and use your gains to help a charity or two and make a difference on this planet and your Comunity. Or at least that is what I would do.

You can still do it, you just get to fish later and sleep in longer first.
If you really miss it, you can buy some used equipment, fix it, break it and start all over. Winnebago the US

3 50K winners? Odds of just 2 are 156.3 billion to 1 with 17 of us playing 51 tickets. Multiply that by 900 thousand to figure out odds of 3. Sorry my 28 digit calculator doesn't go that high. 1 jackpot winner is like 1000 times less likely.....seriously.
$1 million is worth the split. Leave it at jackpots and that. Keep it simple. Think of how many opinions there will be if one of the tickets actually wins something. We'll have enough trouble splitting the 90% without someone calling a lawyer and tying up the whole thing for years. Forget about the 10% that goes to fishing houses. Open that to any/all members for free and S-B.com will be bigger than facebook. Participants in the pool share the houses, elect a board with John chairman that manages it and makes it available to members (members as of 2015 50% off) at a VERY reasonable, slightly subsidized fee to cover upkeep along with the fisheries stuff, etc.
I love the idea of a team win. Let's keep it simple so lots of folks will jump on board!
One last suggestion.....lawyer fees to deal with any dissention come out of the 10%. This way we can likely get paid while the judge and lawyers figure out the rest :-)
Good luck all! Buy a ticket and dream. That's worth $2 in itself.
