shifter cover ?
I have a 2006 115 Yamaha 4 stroke on a c.c. just wondering how to remove the shifter cover , think its time to take a peek in there look for corrosion , lub it up , thanks

if its the same as the 250 4 stroke there is a black rubber cap on the shifter cap, pull that out and there is a Philips screw

Ya, good luck with that!
Put new cables in this winter and needed to pull the remote to attach new cables,,, every screw was seized in the mounting brackets and such,,, for what the parts cost made more sense to me to replace it with the newer model,,, 704 Remote,,'
To get that cover off you need to squeeze it from top to bottom, there are a couple of little plastic pins u can't see that needs the cover to expand on the sides for them to disingage
If u plan on messing with new parts I saved the old unit and may have parts u need,,,,

that's what is was , got cover off nothing to see , tried to remove plastic side panel , could not get off , I just wanted to see if I could lube anything , if I went any futher I would be replacing things (flush mount screws looked like they are fused) , will be leaving alone , thanks for the tip
