Johnny's in the basement mixing up the herring oil
I'm on the pavement thinkin bout a striper boil
man in a seal skin cap with a plover toil
gettin ready for a trip with a plug and a rod that's old.
Get sick, get well, hang around the bait well
try hard cast tail, cast swimmers, don't whale
join the army if you fail
Look out kid, it' s gonna get bit!
cheaters, poachers, six drag netters
If you don't wanna be a bum,
You better fish some
Don't forget your leaders
pay the parking meters

Sorry Mikey,
I was on my way to start this post this am, and I decided to check my blood pressure at the same time.
After several pulse readings around 40 BPM, I made a hightail to the hospital.
Happy number 42.
Always remember I'm prettier than you.
Love

Mikey,
Don't scare me. The Google Machine's age calculator says as of right now, you are 42 years, 0 months, and two days old.
Thanks,
Rick

OK, well played on that volley. I take that as a compliment to us both.
My PC put me on beta blockers so my BP would be low for the last round of surgery. My blood pressure was like 115/75 every day, right as rain. Keep taking them, he says.
Anyway, I lose some weight, have trouble sleeping, get a cold, lose more weight, start getting forgetful, and then take my BP on Sunday.
100/60 with a pulse of 40. Jess drops me off at the hospital, they run all kinds of tests (I have a headache like my head is going to explode).
Doctor gives me a shot of morphene, waits an hour, blood pressure starts to come up a little, pulse at 50. He says, go see your PC on Tuesday, "RIGHT AWAY." And he says, it's the beta blockers.
So, I take the ER's advice, go see my doc yesterday. 115/75 with a pulse of 70. He says, "Well, I guess it was the beta blockers."
FML
They still can't help me with the sleep, but at least I'm alert and not one of the walking dead.
The real reason I'm telling this story is in case you ever want to look like us, ya gotta stay off the beta blockers.
I'm glad to see you're back on the boards more often. I missed you for a long time (and not in the man-man kind of way).
Your Pal,
Rick

Beta blockers are a class of drugs that are particularly used to manage cardiac arrhythmias, and to protect the heart from a second heart attack after a first heart attack.
I was taking Metoprolol XL. Low dose. One pill. Seemed to work like magic. So, once again, I was prescribed something that is not for what they are really used for, but off label benefits.
All I could think of was that warning in the Cymbalta commercials that said, "Don't stand up suddenly when taking Cymbalta as it could lead to a dangerous drop in blood pressure."
If they had beta blocker commercials, maybe I would have known.

Come on Mike . They are beta blockers , They block beta . Jeeez and i thought you were edumacated .
yeah sometimes taking a drug meant for one thing to cure another sometime benefits and others it doesn't . Then you have to watch out . Glad Jess took you to the Hospital .
I don't allow beta to enter my space . that's why i am better looking and with this fabulous brown hair I have . imagine what you will look like when you are my age .
I am so glad to hear you are taking the health thing serious . Sometimes Doctors experiment with us and the drug companies . I was taking some meds for headaches and the side effects were worse than the neck pain and headaches . So now I live with headaches daily . But no more side effects ! Let me know if you need anything . you got my number
