Any idea what this is worth ?

My neighbor is cleaning out his basement and showed me this. Handle turns ok drag seems ok. I used to have a bunch of these as a puppy. He is wanting to sell it and I couldn't give a guess other than maybe $40.
It is a Spinfisher 700.

That's a "greenie"

Like an abacus compared to an adding machine.
Like a sun-dial compared to any other time pieces.
Like a deck of cards compared to an Ipad.

It will tend to outlive and work more reliably after all the expensive gear has gone to the garbage heap.

I have one that was one of the first reels I started striper fishing with. I keep it as a memento and as an "emergency" reel should the need ever arise!

I am a legend in my own mind!

I have 1/2 a dozen. Worth very little unless in pristine condition. A greenie 706 however is worth it's weight. Well over $100. I also have about a dozen 704 greenie spools.

No boat, back in the suds.
