Are these the same blank?

All Star 1209

Breakaway LDFS100H

I don't think so, but I thought I'd ask?

fascinating

thanks,

do you know why the rating is so much higher on the breakaway rod than on the all star blank?

the all star blank list the top weight at 6 while the breakaway rod lists the wt at 8 i think?

The truth is the rod will cast 4 to 6 OZ jigs great. I think Breakaway rates it to 8 cause they consider it a "mini heaver". They say its good for tossing 8 OZ sinker plus a small piece of bait like a clam or sand worm or squid chunk.

I think it can toss the 8OZ and it can certainly handle 6 OZ jigs perfectly.

Some ratings are funny. the blank that the 1265 is made from is rated 1/2 to 1 1/2 but it won't toss 1/2 well and it will toss to 3 OZ well. Go figure???

conventional

thanks for your quick replies guys....

I've seen this blank as a spinner several time. It looks awesome.

Does it have the same handling qualities when built conventional?

I can't imagine it could change much, but hey I've been wrong before.
