Kids do their own halloween thing early, I will split around 8 or so and surf fish wasque for a few hours alone. Halloween is always a great time to fish. Might be my last trip this season.
Tomorrow early am...run the boat up to VH and haul it (I'll have a rod on board just in case)
unload the crap, clean it up a little, pull the kayaks, dingy and put a winter stake on my morring in the pond... Next week I'll take it in for servicing, winterization and shrinkwraping then slip it back in my yard for the winter. We will see how that goes with the wife, I may have to move it to the boatyard next year. (I like working on it in the spring when it is right next to my workshop)
Sunday...leave on a business trip return thur. (ugh, I hate traveling, why do people need to see you anymore? can't we do a web meeting?)
Mako, you keep it in montauk still? what is the reason? You take the OP ferry back? Jezz that is a long day.

Halloween stuff tonight with my little goblin buddy(3 yr. old grandson), and maybe one more run out on the boat before winterizing. See what I can wrangle up for Bass, Cod, Mackeral. got a feeling it'll be a better shot at the latter two choices.

Sandman,
It hs to go back to Montauk for some work I'm owed over there. Not a bad run from Pt. J, takes about an hour. I expect to back in Westerly (airport) by about 12:30 and home by a little after one. I just wish I could have fished tomorrow instead of leaving it there.

MakoMike,
Flying out of Montauk? That airstrip is a hoot in a 40mph crosswind...tomorrow should be a nice flight. The last time I was there we had to make 3 fly-by passes to chase the deer off the runway. Watch those wires!
Too bad you have to leave and can't surf fish (or even boat fish) the point...I hear they are in there pretty good at the moment.

Sandman,
I only wish I could fish tomorrow. I often make the run to fish on my old stomping grounds, I have lots of numbers between the island and the point I've flown in and out of there several times, the marina where i kept (keep?) the boat is right across the street from airport. But I ain't no pilot, I leave that to the gusy who know what they're doing. Deer on the runway is an everyday occurance out there.

I had a blast taking the kids around last night. Today, change oil, pick up leaves and maybe do the long walk tonight in So Co RI.
If anybody is up for the walk - I wouldn't mind the company!

Sandman,
40 kt cross wind ? You should be used to that living on MV.
That is how we HAVE to fly when the boat is blown out.
Ever feel like your stomach is sitting on TOP of your brain when you land on a day like that ?
It's fun and regular, but man, I can't ever get used to it.
Heading out right now. After last nights skunk I expect it to be real slow.
