Light at the end of the tunnel?

This is just one of the outlets reporting this, so don’t go bashing the source here. Market is up big after hours on the news too.

It has been interesting to read that Malaria and HIV treatments seem to be showing signs of effective treatment. Both are blood "issues" and not lung "issues". Read one piece that equated the effect of C19 to carbon monoxide in that C19 may be impacting the hemoglobin ability to carry Oxygn. All very anecdotal at this point, but each day you here some additional confirmatory rumblings.
Here is the official Gilead statement on Remdesivir:
Remdesivir is an investigational nucleotide analog with broad-spectrum antiviral activity – it is not approved anywhere globally for any use. Remdesivir has demonstrated in vitro and in vivo activity in animal models against the viral pathogens MERS and SARS, which are also coronaviruses and are structurally similar to COVID-19. The limited preclinical data on remdesivir in MERS and SARS indicate that remdesivir may have potential activity against COVID-19.
Remdesivir is an experimental medicine that does not have established safety or efficacy for the treatment of any condition.

Plenty of restaurants are offering take-out. We’re trying to get take out from the restaurants we usually go to, and gift cards through restaurants are good as well.
Hardware stores and liquor stores are still open. I see plenty of landscapers still working. If you have yard work or projects to do, you can still get deliveries for things like mulch, Stone, pavers and lumber.
I know it’s not everything that needs it but it’s something

Have you heard about the comparisons to the symptoms of covid19 to high altitude sickness? Some are saying something about not going on a ventilator, rather take the high altitude medicine that helps allow them transfer of oxygen to the blood, a ventilator just forces air into the airways.

Not specifically, but it makes sense. Ventilators are likely not the way to go unless you have run out of options. Best solution may be an isobaric chamber with an elevated oxygen level, but good luck finding one of those.

Yes, have seen this info. My nurse (wife) and I check our O2 and CO levels throughout the day with one of those finger clamps, also temp and BP. Many positive cases are seeing o2 levels down in the 80's. Should be in the very high 90's. That is the "high altitude sickness" symptom... low O2. Ventilators not helpful with that. Exposure to high O2 via nostrils helps as a therapy. Stay safe.
