Dr Birx; distancing through the summer

So what does that look like for boating, fishing, etc for you?
Granted it is a small part of all the issues most of us must deal with differently daily. But here goes;

Get out of vehicle at parking lot. Got hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes, gloves? reach down to unlock padlock securing launch service tender that I have access to during off hours. Gloves on? Or wipe it down before entering combination? Open latch for key, battery switch, tilt controls, steering wheel... wipe down or gloves? You with me?
Then after fishing, washing down, (oh yeah, the hose) and putting it on the mooring, I use the chrome grab rail to get my sorry butt into the empty/full launch.... Oh. am I wearing a mask to get on said launch, or am I now living with a sun blocking gaiter/mask around my neck during my waking hours...
Oops, I ran out of gloves, changing out to prevent contaminating my live bait with the bleach and chemicals in my wipes that I have been using... This could suck. And this was all considered fishing ALONE!!!

Or you could do what you normally do and just wash your hands a couple of extra times

I am hoping my company decides to wear a sun buff that you pull down over your mouth. This crap will not prevent me from going on a single trip, barring infection. I will lash Ross to the bow with coffee,he will be fine. If coffee prevents corona he will never catch it!

I went fishing last night. I was not within 500 yards of anyone so it did not effect me at all other than throwing a bandana in my pocket. I imagine I won't be asked out on friends boats as much as other years. Good luck.

My fishing won’t change much as I fish 95% from shore and usually drive myself and meet up with people. No worries about being within 6’ of anyone at the spots I fish. Hopefully I’ll get some boat invites this season as I have much more time to fish since starting the new job last month.

Ross, as TDF mentioned all you have to do is wash/sanitize your hands after touching anything and don’t touch your face in between. You can’t go around cleaning every surface before touching it.

Cutting down on the coffee, more to reduce sugar intake. (Diets suck)
Funny, one of the things/goals I listed with my PT was being able to get on/off your boat at low tide down there! (I lost her trying to explain a "fixed finger pier") But that is what kept me from coming down the last year I was able to...

Buff, gaiter, mask.... if we are going to be using these for an unknown period of time, we need to figure out what is working best for you and where you are sourcing. Probably should be a separate thread.... anybody?

Me? Bandana is pretty good. Second example; Neighbor dropped off a dozen, mass cut out of t-shirt material with ear slots cut out too. he had ordered 150. Lightweight, easy to breathe through, not so easy to put on. N97 (have two left from sleeve I donated or gave to my MD niece) hard to breathe, as I experienced when using during work, mostly sanding. Marked as mine with date and left in baggie in vehicle. Small dental masks; best I have used, only got three at dentist office where I did a job. elastic on ears was nice, I am reusing and keep in separate baggie in vehicle. Ski masks, with Velcro; Velcro not as good as I had expected, HOT. Have a gaiter/buff on order in white/grey digital camo.
What do you have?

I wore a mask to our refi(2.7) this morning. We were told that we were the first customers signing the new covid19 clause developed for the occasion.

I have tried the N95 which I had in the workshop. Tried the regular cloth one that have the elastic that goes around the ears. I like the bandana best. I wear the bandana only when I am going to be in someplace like Lowes, HD, Walmart. When I get back to the truck I use an antimicrobial spray and spray the front and back of the bandana to kill anything on it and I spray my hands, steering wheel, door handle, etc.
So far, I'm safe but I think Jeanne and I both had this thing in Dec in South Carolina. We were both sick as hell for a week.

No boat, back in the suds.

I Googled everything I could think of and all I found including fact check with Snopes was salt water has NO effect on CORVID-19

Had this on Saturday
331E9E32-6DEF-4DF2-A07F-2081614A4EA9.jpeg
Walks down the ramp to the float just after launch, there’s two young guys on the float also waiting for the next boat to launch, just before step from the gang plank to the float I says u’s shouldn’t be down here and get the hell out of my way,,,, takes that first step onto the float and falls flat on my ass,,, ICE, that’s when I totally lost it,,, get the f back up there and wait your f n turn.... they had no ppe on and there was no way I could get by them without almost brushing shoulders,,,,,

The older I get the tighter I seemed wrapped.....

So if they are unable to do their complete Due Diligence because of Corona they'll sue / screw you later?
