Haven’t had them in years, always on the table along side the smelts and pickled river herring at Christmas when I was a kid.....

Love smelts. Once a stapleford at our xmas eve dinner.Havent had them in 50yrs. I guess that's what you miss when u move out !

I've never had eel that wasn't prepared as sushi, which is awesome...If I'd ever have to make it I myself I could only think of the last fall eels in the tank at the bait shop covered in sores. Not appetizing.

Got some big eels for the girlfriend yest in Kingston( Hannaford or Big Y) exit 10. She gets dinner, I get nice skins

Santa was out dropping off stuffies and went by Maco’s today, turned around, thought I’d drop off a couple,,,, sorry u weren’t there... next year ;-)...... LOL

Just remember, leaving the skin on gives them a nice texture. The bones will melt adding pectin making a richer flavor. They're basically gut free so easiest to leave them in the round. If you're lucky enough to have live ones save the slime for your sauce.
