How’s this for stopping Dragging
https://www.bbc.com/news/av/science-...nment-56201231
seems greenpeace is dropping boulders in protected area in an effort to stop dragging in marine sanctuary waters ..
Low cost that’s for sure , and dangerous for dragger’s

IF, and that is a big if, if it is a protected zone, I am not against it. I have seen the results and attitude of paired trawlers and draggers in my own back yard and out on Stellwagen in the past. But the boulder bombers should be working with the government too. Seems there are different understanding of what and where is protected zone....

Unless they stagger them in high numbers, electronics will teach the draggers their new course. When the radar detects the rock, there's probably still plenty of time to avoid it with the net?
Regardless, I think it's a good idea...structure down below is always a positive thing when it comes to fish habitat.

I’m not a fan of draggers but that’s a pretty dangerous game the greenies are playing. And who’s removing the ghost gear left behind. Canada has a program where they pay fisherman to go out and remove old gear that’s been abandoned/lost. That practice should be adopted everywhere. All those boats sitting at the dock should be removing trash

I’d have to think that the draggers have good enough electronics to see a Boulder like that and just drag around it when they are mowing the lawn

I would think greenpeace have built into their plan a drop pattern so they can’t just can’t steer around

A rock hopper net won't hop over boulders.
