cod don’t appear to be endangered!
Did an open boat six pack out of gloucester yesterday, hoping for my limit of 15 haddock.
i caught 38 cod to about 12 pounds, 4 hake, 3 whiting, and 4 haddock, one was short.
Others around me fared the same, it was ten cod for every haddock.
I haven’t seen that before. Very light wind, calm seas, lots of laughs, better than doing yard work.

How much moving around did you do? Sometimes you’ll find more of one species at say 140. And then you go to 150 and a different story
I was out yesterday with friends. It was a bit slow but managed 30 haddock for the boat. Very few shorts. Had maybe a dozen throwback cod. Foggy morning.

we fished 6 spots, he was also on the radio all day talking to other skippers, every single one of them said the same thing.
It was a great day and a lot of fun, I'm very very new to deepwater groundfishing and I felt like I learned a lot and got a lot better. I just didn't fill the freezer like I had hoped, and that's no big deal.
Went the same time last year, and it was 10 haddock for every cod.
I think we only kept 15 haddock for the boat. Good job by you guys!

Not if he went out of Gloucester.
I highly doubt they steamed south of the 42 line where it’s legal to keep cod.
The cod are full or worms also.

Not this year.
Sitting the year out.
Boat is staying in shelter.
Cost of everything up (especially diesel $6-$8 a gallon) I’m taking the year off.
