Dont go on worrying about me - just tell me when and where. Ideally a Saturday would lure them into the pond - bringing in back ol' school' style. Get it done Specialists.... Pops02 makes the rules up...

How about Master Baiters? I still play pond hockey every winter, but lately we have been getting so much snow we end up only playing 1-2 times a year. I like the idea of renting a rink. Really need two goalies to make it really work indoors though.
BTW how old is everyone? I'm 50 and have lost a step or two in the last decade.

I'm 33 and stand six feet six inches. I played at University of Maine and started as a freshman. I play for the P-Bruins now, but they're think of bringing me up to the show.............................................. .....................
I'm 33 and short. I played in high school and haven't done much skating since. My back and legs hurt and my lungs are skimpy.
I'd love to give it a go. Full pads or just sticks and pucks?

I played an coached almost 25 yrs.would probably have a heart attack.if i gave it a go today.I'm a pathetic shell of the man I used to be. oh well.its to far to drive anyway.used to go to the lake with 10-15 sticks an pass them out all my buds would try to take the puck from me.man that is the best sport to play by far 90 seconds of pure adrenaline every 3 minutes.sucks to watch anymore.trap defenses put me to sleep.

Any update on wether or not this is gonna happen? Skated all day saturday (real, real cold) and again for a few hours sunday in Scituate next to Belson's bait & Tackle when i went to drop my reels off. Any thing up for this weekend? Gonna have to do the old "zamboni thing" with this snow, but if a bunch wanna get together somewhere saturday, I'd be up for it along with at least 2 other buddies.
Traveling really isn't a problem. I can bring the nets.
After all the talk about doing this, lets try and pull it off.

That sounds great. Brooklawn park in the north end of NewBedford has excellent ice and plenty surface even an embankment on two sides. I'm into it! Can call hockey budds too.

Is Brooklawn the one on Acushnet Ave that is like a big duck pond? I always swung by there to see if people were skating back when I was in College down there, but there was never anyone playing hockey. I skated on it by myself twice. I used to drive all around Dartmouth and New Beige looking for people playing pond hockey, but always found the same thing. Lots of nice ice with nobody skating. I don't think many people down that way are into hockey, at least not like it is on the South Shore.
I am up for anything as long as it is a definite. Gotta let me know what the plans are by 3 friday, cause once I leave this place of misery, I have no web access till monday.....wait, make that Tuesday this weekend......A three day weekend comin' up.

Cal, Where in weymouth is this pond you live on ?( I temporarily live in Q-town). Goose, is the ice in New Beige good? Goose, send me a PM with a # I can reach you at in the morning (I am not gonna be home tonight and still have yet to replace the cell from the river boat incident) would prefer to play some good hockey and not have to shovel off the ice, did my share as a kid. Now that I am older, time to let the lil' ones do the work for me. So if it is gonna be good hockey for a few hours, I'll make the hour haul down there. Just let me know.

There is a very thin layer of snow one end of the plow blade didn't clean. More concerned with the # of bodies. I can drive to weymouth if there's better chance of having net's and skaters. I'm game!
