They did try the "naked" bootleg in the 4th quarter and Brady ended up "stripped". He's no Steve Grogan, that's for sure.

Stripped as he lay on the ground I believe was the ruling...and there was absolutely no reason for that play at that point in the game....very reckless play call given the score, I believe we were up by a touchdown, and 1:20 on the clock! Had we turned that ball over right then and there...I believe the Colts would have driven down field and tied that game up! Just one guys opinion!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

TRO...I like your comparison Brady to Grogan...very similar type quarterbacks with alot of heart! Grogan was a great quarterback in my opinion! They both might have had a little sand in their shoes but at least they don't lace on cement blocks like one Drew "Cement Shoe" Bledsoe!

BF, Carlina is lucky to be there, how do you figure.

Its no secret they have alot of the 2001 pats attitude, I wouldn't call it luck. That Panther secondary was nailing them(not as hard as pat's but...) yeah the NFL nation wanted to see eagles vs. pats but the best two teams are going.

Goose...take a chill pill! You got your opinion and I got mine! I respect your opinion Goose however respect is a two way street, and I only give what I get! I am not telling you that you are wrong so please treat my opinions with a little of the same courtesy I have shown you! This is a topic with alot of opinion and discussion so lets try to have some fun talking back and forth about it! I do enjoy hearing anyone elses opinion, often times I learn quite a bit from some people who I will admit know alot more about football than I do! I maintain my opinion that they are lucky to be there, that does not mean that I say they do not belong there! Do you think they "have the horses to beat the Patriots" as I said earlier? Just curious what your opinion on that might be, because I do want to hear it and I will give you your space to voice your opinion as long as I am given the space to voice mine!

Boy...I have been here before!

NFL nation wanted to see Eagles -v- Colts. NFL Nation is not getting their wish .

Carolina deserves to be there. They played and won THREE playoff games, on the road, to get where they are. they were lucky - just like the Pat's were "lucky" all season long and kept somehow beating "the better team". And all those stars from those "better teams" are all working on a different chip shot on some seaside grass course in Florida.

Nobody gets to the dance being lucky - maybe lucky AND good, but never just lucky.

We have 2 good & hungry teams in Houston in 2 weeks and we should have one hell of a game. But we shoud not make the same mistake that 90% of the country made 2 years ago. Respect Carolina and watch a good game...

Go Pats!

JohnR...let me begin by saying.....I respect your opinion! There is an old saying...."never under estimate your oponent"! I believe that saying, and I believe the Patriots should not under estimate Carolina! However, after all the window dressing, media blitz, and so on....when you get down to nuts and bolts...."my opinion" is that the Carolina Panthers cannot compete with this Patriots team offensively, defensively, or from a coaching stand point! Carlina is outmanned and outgunned in this upcoming Superbowl, in my opinion! I guess we will all have the answer in two weeks, and I hope it is an entertaining game at the very least!

Sorry-here is the "o" and the "p" that I left out of a couple of words!

My apology Big Fish. I did not mean to come across the way I did. I think everyone predicts and expects a pats victory with good reseason...didn't the rams do the same thing. I feel more confident going into this then in 2001 but turn overs play a huge role and any thing can happen, right Tye There was no disrepect intended.

yup John...they did want Eagles vs Colts.

I need to fish man.

None of my business, but it didn't sound disrespectful to me at all. The way I read that post was that Goose was asking you how do you figure it was luck, seems he was asking how you can back up your opinion. I got the feeling after I read your reply bigfish, that you had another burst pipe or something with that paragraph you went on about it
I think ya need to thicken your skin just a tad, that's just my opinion.

The Pats will beat Carolina 16-10, Adam will be huge with his 3 field goals, Brady gets one TD and the Panthers get one garbagetime late TD to screw up the points spread so the Pats don't cover.

As long as it is your opinion Slipknot, I guess I can't argue with you! As far as them being "lucky to be there" that is just what I mean.....I just don't think they are really a great team....I would call them an anomaly, a team that sneaked through the cracks as some teams do, and it happens! I just do not think they have that much talent on that team and they beat out some teams that definately had more talent.....I would call that luck, good fortune, the fact that the other team did not bring their "A" game.....and as I said that happens. Let me dig up some stats and I will better make my case for luck!

all i could talk about at work today was the game! it felt even better that i work in hartford. they still feel the pain of a few years ago getting "snubbed" when the patriots thought about moving.

Here is my opinion, Carolina deserves to be there. They are a hungry, and driven to win team. They are cagey, and very unpredictable. I am more afraid of the panthers than I am the Eagles. I was also very nervous of the fact the Pats played games with runnining down the clock so early yesterday. The Colts are so explosive this game could have went either way. Most troubling was trying to run the ball into the endzone up the middle inside the 5,with such a small lead. Lets not play any games, get the points on the board and build a cushion.

Big word of the day yesterday should have been blitz....

Blitzing would have opened up the field for Manning to better find his recievers Specialist.....they played Manning perfectly by pressuring him up front and keeping the coverage on his recievers tight! You give Manning his targets and he will kill you.

It must've been a Real cold day yesterday. The reff's flags where frozen in there pockets. since when are db's allowed to check a reciever for ten yds.No calls on def. holdings, pass interference One hit was deffinitley roughin when the Pats db left his feet to deliver a high blow.was a very strange game to watch on TV the camera missed several plays a kickoff the onsides quickkick. An the camera angles on shots where really bad no replays Very weird. Why didn't Dungy try to reverse the catch by Stockley the refs called incomplete..I didn't see Manning through the ball deep one time the hole game. This NEVER happens. Its almost like the Pats where supposed to win.Bet the cats win next week. The NFL would love to tap into the fan rich carolina's Just see Nascar an NCAA Basketball. I actually wanted the pats to win an wanted to see a good game like last week. from a fan of the game's perspective.I am usually not this cynical but the game seemed very strange to me any one else get this.I don't doubt the outcome Manning is one of the great Jeckyl an Hyde QB's in fooball.almost as bad as Ried's Eagles.

A NIB, launching is legal as long as you don't lead with your head.

I saw the refs letting the guys play, this IS the playoffs afterall. But I did see some holding that we got away with. The Pats play to win no matter what it takes to reach their goal.

BUT, unlike in that senario Belichick is not Martz, THANK GOD, and has these guys so focused that there will be no letdown. Rodney Harrison alone will muster up enough willpower to help his team win

Speaking of defense, Carolina's isn't too shabby. It should be a good, low scoring superbowl and the Pat's will win.

It'll be a good game....But I think their secondary is a little suspect. Philly isn't exactly an offensive machine.

The Pats defense will shut down Davis and will eat Delhomme Alive!
