Thought it would look good, using tails. so heres my first atempt, still needs improvement, TYIN

I like it! How's the tail "wiggle" in the water? Done a tub test yet?
I also like the inside color showing thru to overlayed white material!

steelhead, the tail feather flattens down in the water, but it is extended from the body an has little side movement it need to be bigger an extend a little more so i can get more movement. maby cock schlepin feather might work, im going to do some more w/ more body color to.

P.S. the inside is angel hair ice w/ red marabou w/ white neer hair on top combed out an trimed to shape give it a try, I think the fly will look good even w/ out a tail.

Hey Salty, what if you stiffened the tail with some epoxy and mabey put a little spoon shape in it ? Bet ya get some wiggle. Looks like the arm is getting better.

NEXT2NUN, YES, Im going to do more w/ softex, an w/ 2 feathers together it should be more ridged, an bigger feathers, as for the ARM cant wait to get this cast off.
